Oldham takeover almost complete. Great news for them. They've paid dearly for having another shitty owner.

I'll put money on Derby having new owners within 5 years.

Nothing against the new owner but he strikes me very much as someone who's come in to get the club out of administration, work withing the business plan and get them back in an even keel before selling up at a profit. In essense, that's what Derby need and fair play to him for putting his money where his mouth is but I don't think he'd got the wealth to invest heavily.

Very possible. Is very marked how Derby fans seem to have gone from woe is me to slagging off other clubs who's fans are understandably a little miffed that they have gone from the brink of liquidation to signing players they simply couldn't in the space of 48 hours.

All whilst writing off a massive amount of debt.

Not sure where I can put this, but there's Tweets around today of Fulham's pricing structure for their opening match of the season against Liverpool. Prices for a seat range from 65-100 quid (outside of the family zone area), and the cheapest child ticket is £35 (outside of family area), rising to a maximum of £70 depending on the stand. Outrageous.

Will that stand be finished by the next time we play them?

So that means Derby aren’t under an embargo and can fling as much money as they fancy to wherever they fancy flinging it then?

Except that their income is going to drop dramatically and they still have to comply with FFP

Just signed James Collins on a freebie.

Scored loads for Luton the season before last, not so hot for Cardiff last season, should do well for them in Div 1 next season.

Does leave a slightly bad taste that club can write off debts then essentially sign a ton of players out of the reach of clubs in their division.

Yes, they got relegated but with the squad they are building they could well bounce straight back. Would be annoyed if we were in the same division.

Known as the Golden Hen in Italy where he played much of his career, he’s only just retired. Seems a bit of an odd move, doesn’t seem to any connections in U.K.
