I seriously would consider starting Puscas. João won't be fit and neither will Long. We know where this is heading with injuries.
If Puscas is still here and we are paying his salary at least utilise him and not freeze him out.
I still think he has something to offer.

We also have 2 better wide providers that might suit him better in Hoilett and Ince.

What's wrong with Meite?

He did well up there a couple of seasons back when we started well but I prefer him out wide and drifting in. He does more damage for me. I agree he is a better player.
I'm not a fan of playing him down the middle though. Im not sure if Ince likes him as well....I don't think he would play him. The number of times he was an option last season but bought on too late.

Right but you're suggesting plating Puscas with Ince and Hoillett? Dropping Meite to the bench.. unless I've misunderstood..

I'm just saying it's an option.
João clearly won't play 20 games at this rate, Long is already injured and Meite is not exactly Mr Consistent on the injury free front. He will pick a another one up, its guaranteed.

Right but If our 3 first choice strikers are injured at the same time for a pronounced period of time then we may as well start playing Clarke or Azeez up there because we're getting relegated in that scenario. League 1 prep.

Meite will start. Long on the bench along with Ehib and Azeez

That’s ok for this one. Hopefully Joao properly fit for next week

Joao hasn't been ruled out yet
He still might start but as per Houndy if he is unfit Clarke might also be a bench option
It isn't too bad.
We should certainly have a strong squad for Cardiff with Sarr, Loum, Joao and possibly Dann in the squad

Long will play some part, Joao will have a late fitness test but would presume he won’t be risked if there is any doubt.

Dann is running again but won’t make the fixture and is probably a couple of weeks behind in terms of fitness.

Doubt Puscas will be considered to play any part in any Reading game until after the window shuts in about 4 weeks so as to minimise any chance of injury and therefore his chance of departing to another club.

Blackpool have signed Canadian international winger Theo Corbeanu on loan from Wolves for the season and are reportedly about to buy midfielder Cameron Brannagan from Oxford.

Just seen that Brannagan has snubbed Blackpool to remain at Oxford.

I wouldn't start Puscas up front on his own, would have to be in a 2 with Meite otherwise we may as well just start without a striker, he's been here long enough for us to know he just isn't effective as a lone striker. If we go with 1, it has to be Meite, if we go with 2 then yes, Puscas and Meite. All of that is assuming Joao isn't fit to start the game or is ruled out entirely, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Not exactly related but not sure where else to put this (except the "On the Box" thread). Advance warning of a fixture change:

Reading v Stoke selected by Sky. Date/time moved to Sunday, September 4, with kick-off scheduled for 12noon.

Was going to say Keogh is also now doubt for them and overall they have big issues in defence and Reading need to be trying to exploit that as much as possible - so let's hope that Ince has them taking the game to Blackpool as much as possible rather than sitting back and waiting.
