Sutekh
Birmingham have been taken over by a consortium led by former Argentina striker Maxi Lopez

Known as the Golden Hen in Italy where he played much of his career, he’s only just retired. Seems a bit of an odd move, doesn’t seem to any connections in U.K.

Good way to launder his match fixing earnings?

It looks like Barca will raise up to €1bn this summer ny selling shares of future TV and merchandising revenue. Short termism in the extreme. They may sign some talented players, but long term they will find it harder to complete. And last time they spent big on players with the Neymar money it didn't really work out.

It is far worse than that.

Laporte (the Barcelona Chairman) has sold 25% of their next 25 years La Liga TV revenue to a US lender called Sixth Street in 2 tranches; the first 10% was valued at €207.5M, so whilst the 2nd tranche of 15% didn't have an official valuation, €310M seems about right., so over €500M in total..........they are relying upon the European Court of Justice to reject UEFA's banning of the European Super League, and if that happens (so they believe) they will be as rich as those teams backed by National funds such as Man City, PSG and Newcastle.

Meanwhile, they spunk nearly €50M in transfer fees on a 4 yr contract for a 34 Robert Lewandowski (whose signing on fee, agents fees and salary will probably take that to well beyond €100M) and are hoping to get 32 yr old Ceasar Azpilicueta from Chelsea on a 6 yr deal.

The Barcelona Chairman feels able to pile all this debt onto the club because it all goes onto the members - ordinary fans; they are able to do this because previously, the Chairman and his board used to have to PERSONALLY guarantee 15% of each season's projected budget, and were liable for any losses. However, at the end of last Year a law was passed that ended this requirement, so now each individual memeber will have an equal share of the liability of 100% of all debts of the club. This allows the Chairman to splurge not only other peoples money (in effect, the fans) but also the abilaity for future Barcelona Chairmen to raise funds.

If the ESL does get the green light from the European Courts, the 2 people who will get the biggest share of the (predicted) gazillions from the TV rights will be Laporte and his Real Madrid couterpart, Florentino Perez.

The word corrupt simply doesn't do it justice.

No financial crisis, but football finance related - Barnsley are seeking to end their sponsorship arrangement with cryptocurrency firm The Hex, after the guy behind the arm of the company that negotiated the deal was found to have posted some pretty vile homophobic, racist, and right-wing conspiracist stuff online.

What's really disturbing is an apparent 'community' of Hex users and supporters now trolling Barnsley FC on social media.

I think it's after the Fofana money (could be wrong, it's been known!)

At the moment Leicester look doomed and could be in quite a big financial mess if they drop, though they do still have a few players that would command decent fees.

If Leicester can't afford a hundred and twenty quid loss then they really are screwed, that's not even a week's disposable.

Being reported that Everton's auditors are refusing to sign off their accounts and have walked away from the club - supposedly in connection with the ownership of Farhad Moshiri.

It's quite ironic how a few Championship clubs have gambled to reach the PL in an attempt to receive all this money and blowing FFP out of the water, only for a couple of PL clubs to be in the spotlight with FFP issues as well.

If the accounts aren’t signed off then shouldn’t the PL be immediately down on Everton and their owners like a ton of bricks?

If it was anyone other than a club with a 'history' then yep. The PL have known about Everton's overspending for some years as well.

Watford could be on the radar up next. Some weird things going on there apart from mess on the pitch. If i am reading things right Udinese owe Watford about £30M+ for players. Money not forthcoming. so Watford have taken out a substantial loan to get the money in and then for Udinese to pay the loan company. That dont sound right or good at all.

Nothing specific about the above but the Watford Observer got a low down on the general Watford/Udinese relationship as regards transfers over the summer:

Also it looks like another area that might need review by the FL:

Trust Everton to mess up having a wealthy owner. For one of our bigger English football clubs they have spent 20 years with no money and then 4 or 5 years with it and spent money like Elton John in a florists with only Alex Iwobi Andros Townsend to show for it, what a mess.
