I quite like David Batty's take on missing a penalty in 98.

It's a football match, it's not life or death. There's more important things to get upset about.

My review:

France better than us first half, we did an OK job of restricting Mbappe. The goal was just a great goal, couldn't do much about it.

Needed a reaction in the 2nd half and got one. We applied pressure on them and were the better team until they got their 2nd goal. Went a bit flat after that. Kane's pen was woeful, but sometimes humans make errors. We lost to a team who we knew were better than us but were in no way embarrassed and were likely just a penalty kick away from taking them to extra time. I think we did OK. QF is about par for us too.

Agreed…par for the course Engerland. as much as I expected us to achieve this time around tbf.

Nowwee, it’s back to slagging-off the whole Qatar event I guess…

Oh yeah so let's just give him a pat on the oxf*rd back then

200k a week and oxf*rd bottle job skied a penalty

He shouldn't put on an England shirt again[/

Does the same apply to all others e.g Rashord, Sanyo, and Shaka. Who would volunteer for pens if you were manager you bellend.

Did I personally attack you?

Maybe you are just hurt and upset because of the loss.

Go away pest.

Listen fella, I don’t engage with you because you are clearly a troubled soul incapable of rational discourse.

But seriously, from what I can see there is literally only one person throwing their toys out of their pram on here (whaaaa whaaaaa) and it’s you.

Just stop.

10 pens awarded by VAR this WC. Only 4 of them were scored.

Tactically we were good, we were comfortable in possession, we created far more chances, but we just didn’t get the rub today. In previous generations we would have been holding on by our fingertips bemoaning a half chance snuffed out by a possible infringement.

Cementing ourselves as a very consistent, dangerous and technically gifted side.

I'm not neutral because I have English blood but my allegiance is with Wales. However I wanted England to win.

I didn't see much of the first half as its been a manic day. Saw the second half in a Cheltenham pub and saw an England team go toe to toe with the team who I suspect will win the World Cup. This England team play stylish football and are a match for the best teams in world football. They deserved extra time.

Fair play to Giroud. Surely the most under rated player in world football
