Inter ask about Harry Maguire

What are they asking ?
How come his form has dropped off a cliff ?

In fairness, he might be more suited to Italy. Both Smalling and Tomori have gone over there and have done well really.

But both Tomori and, to a slightly lesser extent, Smalling have got some pace

Plenty of CB's in that league, past and present, along with many CB's across the top leagues in the world, don't have that much pace. It obviously just comes down to how you play.

Gallagher to Everton makes sense from Chelsea's point of view. you amortise players over a long contract when signing them but you recognise the whole amount in the first year when selling

Remember seeing Gallagher play for Charlton at the Mad Stad a few months before the pandemic. I remember thinking he looked embarrassingly better than everyone else

what if they're shit, cost a lot and have huge contracts? How do you get rid of them?

Think Maguire...£80M and £200+G a week

I am not saying it makes sense for them to sign players over those crazy long contracts btw, just that having done that they now need to offload someone as they can recognise it all in one go

Selling Gallagher for £40M would balance out (in year 1 only) most of their crazy signings in this window

Isco apparently on his way to Union Berlin. Bloke used to get hyped relentlessly by the media here always claiming someone was going to sign him when he was a regular sub at RM. He then went to Sevilla and has his contract terminated after 4 months he was so sh*t and is now reportedly off to Union Berlin (who are 2nd in the Bundesliga)

Apparently Gallagher doesn't want to move. Not surprised really. Also not surprised that Palace haven't come back for a permanent move given that price tag.

Gallagher favours a move to Newcastle, who were also keen, but Chelsea don't want to sell him to a rival.

Looking forward to seeing how this transfer approach plays out for Chelsea over the coming seasons. Brobers points out the perils of this - unless they can sell him, for the next three seasons Chelsea will pay Lukaku around £10m in wages (less if they loan him out of course), and write down £19m of his transfer cost. They are also amortising Kepa's transfer fee at £14m a season, Havertz the same, Pulisic at £10m, Fofana and Chilwell at about £9m each, and have Cucurella, Chukwuemeka, Koulibaly, Sterling and Havertz on expensive long-term deals too, before you even get to their signings this window.

really interested to see if Maddison goes to Newcastle. I really rate him and Leicester have gone to sh*t. will be fascinating to see if he can flourish at a decent team

They are stacked there, and only a couple of them are really good enough... Perisic, Emerson, Sessegnon, Doherty, Spence. Reguilon is still there and out on loan.

Porro is coming in today and he looks a step above. Udogie has also already been signed and will feature next season, I imagine those two will be the first choice going forward

Jorginho to Arsenal for £12M.

Seems an odd one to me. he only just turned 31, doesn't have any pace to lose, and has played in all but 2 of their games this season.

I really hate how all photo's of players at new clubs now have to be one of the 2 following things:

1. Player grabbing fistful of shirt around badge area to look somehow passionate about that club
2. Player with both fists clenched as if celebrating a goal

Not happening now as he wants too much money.
