AthleticoSpizz Dipping into NL/FA Cup territory here….and possibly one for PtR

Sheff U v Kabota FC tonight….Sheff player inexplicably bear hugs his opponent around the chest and neck, preventing him from playing or progressing the ball (in his pocession), the ref blows up the blatant foul…no booking….why no yellow card?

Think i saw that one - is that where the Wrexham player turned him halfway in own half and striker had a bit of him but player was as you described.

If so - yellow all day long - can only think he felt it was 60/40 and let it go somewhat in terms of punishment.

Yep, that was the one. Thanks for your input, Sheff player was a lucky lad.

Really odd, though, that Radcliffe didn't say they'd signed him in advance - the first anyone knew was his name on the teamsheet.

It may be that it was a genuinely last minute signing, but you have to think they knew it'd cause a kerfuffle and were trying to keep it quiet.

(An aside, didn’t Jem Karacan sign for them prior to his recent retirement?)

Re. Goodwillie, having read Radcliffe’s statement on “giving offenders a second chance” …(having signed him) what changed (their club mission, and minds) so quickly?….honest question

Did he try and ‘seduce’ the tea ladies or something?

I'd image there was a Twitter pile-on and they got cold feet. Maybe advertisers/sponsors threatened to pull their dosh, too.

Or maybe the decision to sign him was taken by the management but once the board got wind of it they said "no way".

That was essentially happend at Clyde wasn't it - think it was Clyde or maybe Raith, who signed him then reneged pretty quickly after a backlash.

Both Raith Rovers and Clyde. He signed for Raith in January 2022 and Raith loaned him to Clyde for the rest of the season. Both clubs faced backlash and their women's teams severed ties. What's really odd about it all though is that after he was convicted in the civil case in 2016 (and told to pay £100k in compensation) he played for Plymouth for 6 months and then Clyde for 4 years and it seems no-one raised any issues. Raith finally released him from his contract in September 2022 and Radcliffe after 1 game.

Great initiative to ‘clean the pipes’ get rid of some old stock and to ensure that there is a ‘boisterous’ atmosphere.

Love it

Wonder if Maidenhead now regret running away from the B&BC.

Shouldn`t think so as they are only 5 points clear of the relegation positions, although have 16 matches to ensure their safety.

Four Of Clubs Saturday 11th February

NATN
Brackley Town 1-1 Chorley - ‘Saints’ back in 4th
- morning’s leaders Kings Lynn beaten at home by Chester; Darlo go down 1-3 at Boston allowing AFC Fylde who’ve gained 22 points from the last 24 available to take over top spot

Pretty dire performance and should have been a straightforward win but for a calamitous goal given away. Plenty of chances all falling to the gangly number 9, Amantchi, who had a shocker. He's like a more awkward Lucas Joao but with very little skill. Nice penalty tho

Even more disappointing when you see other results.

The game was segregated for some reason. I counted 12 Chorley fans at the most!!
