I feel quite sorry for Huddersfield fans. They haven't spunked money around like we have and have been run into the ground. It annoys me how bad owners always ruin clubs

Sutekh
Stranded Seem to be a lot of rumours that Huddersfield will go into administration this week.

If they go into administration by Thursday, the -12 will come off this season's total. Any later, will start next year on -12.

Local Huddersfield media explain the current position below

This doesn't feel right...so if Huddersfield go into admin on Friday and finish up say one point outside bottom three they would stay up and start next season on -12?

No if they went into admin next Friday they’d lose 12 points this season. The cut off date is Thursday 23 March.

They did buy quite a bit of crap tbf, which they didn’t get much back for

But yeah does surprise me they are that skint. They didn’t do a Forest and buy anything that moved for an inflated price

Most Championship clubs run at a loss, given their 75% share holder, who stepped in to take over the majority from their 25% shareholder who has health issues, recently put loads of his businesses into admin, it looks grim.

If the main owner's financial empire is falling apart and can't sustain itself, it won’t be able.to sustain the club, at which point even small typical losses add up to a big problem quickly.

I can't imagine many clubs have much liquidity, or that Hudders would be prime loan material for anyone less dodgy than Vibrac

Hudds admin being reported in nationals now

So there's basically 4 sides possibly looking at points deductions (including Brum who are under investigation) all either near or at the bottom of the table.

Affects the integrity of the league this late in the season, maybe the EFL will bottle it

Burnley under a transfer embargo because they haven't submitted their accounts on time.

So the Championship embargo club is:

1st placed Burnley
2nd placed Sheffield United and...
16th placed Reading

Well if hudders go into admin they have no choice but to give them 12 points

Wigan should be nailed on for 3, and sounds like us for 6. Blackpool are dire so unless something dramatic happens we should be ok

Not listed on the EFL embargos page. Neither are Burnley to be fair but theirs has only just happened.

Basically, the finances of the majority of the clubs in the Championship are as stable as a Silicon Valley based Bank at the moment; we will see a lot of teams falling foul of the EFL in the next season or so.

The EFL is going to review the transfer of Hassane Kamara from Watford to Udinese to ensure the fee was not inflated.

The defender was signed by Watford from Nice for £3.6m in January 2022 and was sold to Udinese for £16.9m eight months later in the summer transfer window. He was then immediately loaned back to Watford and has played 26 of their 35 Championship games this season.

Watford and Udinese are both owned by Pozzi Family...............not too dodgy then!

The game is up…good ‘old fashioned’ football and all that it stood for is long since dead,

If/when Burnley and/or Sheffield Utd. get promoted will the embargo apply when they come back down to the Championship? As they will have Premiership players on their books, I can't see the embargo having much effect.

No it won't - if both clubs remain under embargo at the end of the season, then they won't be able to register any new players until they are officially a PL club, which is July 1st.

Burnley's embargo will be lifted as soon as they submit their accounts, which will happen shortly I'm sure. The embargo is just a stick used to stop clubs delaying submitting the accounts for an inordinate amount of time (or ever).

Never submitting can't happen. Companies House will strike them off the register and they would be dissolved.

Burnley's excuse is that they changed auditors which has caused a delay. I can sympathise with this as exactly the same happened where I work.

Cardiff's was lifted when they paid the first instalment of the Sala fee.

I meant directly to the EFL, which is an additional requirement over submitting to Companies House I believe, which of course is a legal requirement.

And a transfer embargo in that case is meaningless because clubs can only sign unattached players until several months after the deadline.

Probably gives more credence to the administration rumours.
