Winston Biscuit Great work from West Brom to bring in Albrighton & Chalobah.

Darlow to Hull looks decent business too

WBA are probably right in the **** if they don’t go up.

Also, what are the ffp rules in the PL? Surely Chelsea must be pushing it now? Then there’s ManC, are they being investigated still? Is it actually possible for a club in the PL to fall foul of any ffp rules?

Chelsea are currently within the FFP limits because of the long contracts they are offering. I think UEFA said they may change the ruling soon to stop clubs doing that

And City are transfer fee positive over the last three windows
£61m for Cancelo in the summer would help
When did Squeaky get a job at the Etihad ?

They've changed it so the maximum length of time you can amortise a contract for is 5 years, whereas Chelsea will be able to do it for the length of the contracts they've offered players for, so 7-8 in some cases.

In terms of outgoings, that sum of money is taken off the accounts at the time. So if Chelsea were to sell a player for £30m, that will come off their accounts as £30m as one lump sum.

The danger for Chelsea is, they won't be able to go rogue like they have this season in the next 5-8 years, because they will still have significant amounts coming off in those years for players. Essentially, the players they have now and who they are probably going to be sticking with for a number of years, they've put a lot of faith in their recruitment for the present and future.

Winston Biscuit Jorginho to Arsenal for £12M.

Seems an odd one to me. he only just turned 31, doesn't have any pace to lose, and has played in all but 2 of their games this season.

I think that one's the deal of the window.

£12m for someone with his experience and (st)ability is a steal - and just what Arsenal needed.

Yes, albeit they also have to write down at the point of sale any remaining asset value pertaining to that player. Example is Werner, sold for £25m, which is all revenue, but purchased for £45m he had three years remaining on his contract, Chelsea will have written down c. £27m when he left, and broadly equalised the fee they got for him.

It's a risky business because the strategy relies on being able to liquidate assets in the future, and at the optimum time. Lukaku won't move permanently any time soon, because Chelsea would likely have to recognise a big loss on his sale.

Yep agree - although Chelsea will argue any business is risky business, which there is an element of truth to.

It just seems like they've thrown all their eggs in one basket here. They won't be able to do much business outside of this, without having to make significant profit on players they sell which will be difficult to do given the length of their contracts, especially if some players don't end up performing. But a lot of these signings are for now and the future and this is the squad that, by and large, a manager will be tasked with working with. It's open for change, but it's risky. If 3/4 don't work, it will cause issues. If they can get most of these players to perform, then they will do well. They haven't signed poor players, they've just gone about their business differently.

Everton apparently likely to start negotiating to see if they can use covid to get out of their possible breach of ffp.

The sooner every player’s contract at a club starts having designated mandatory “wage deduction percentages set in the event of relegation” clauses the better.

Winston Biscuit only 4 transfers from the top 35 most expensive were not to English clubs

Vitinha to Marseille €32M
Gerson to Flamengo €15M
Ndayishimiye to Nice €11.5M
Gorriaran to Pumas (Mexico) €12M

That pesky EU with its money laundering laws (and enforcement)…

Cracking signing for that level. But I would question Wrexham signing anyone at this stage of the season or doing anything that could upset the apple cart.

Yep, but he's only in emergency cover - Rob Lainton was injured at the weekend

Excellent, looking forward to getting him on loan when he hits 23 having made zero appearances for Chelsea's first team.

I think Steph Houghton and Steven Darby have missed the boat in that one.

Looks like Liverpool's pursuit of Bellingham has ended in a whimper. Likely fee around £135m has put them off. And it's a lot of money. See how the summer plays out I guess - the guy idolises Gerrard and is best mates with Henderson, but looks like money will talk, again. So where does he go? Real? He won't play every week. PSG? Surely not. Chelsea? They've spent £100m on Enzo to do the same job. City? Please, not City. Maybe United, who with Liverpool are a side who need a Bellingham.

Maybe most likely now he stays at Dortmund another year - he certainly doesn't seem unhappy there.
