Leyton Orient promoted to L1 last night - need 5 points from their last 3 to be Champions. FGR were relegated from L1 at the weekend.

Other 3 spots in the relegation zone currently belong to Accrington, Morecombe and Cambridge - Oxford remain just 1 point outside the drop zone - their last 2 games being FGR and Accrington will probably see them safe.

Back in L2 Rochdale will likely be confirmed as one of the relegated sides at the weekend, 8 points adrift with 3 games left. Other spot looks like being between Crawley and Hartlepool. Hartlepool host Crawley this weekend.

In the National League - Wrexham beat Yeovil 3-0 - one win (or Notts County not winning both), will see them return to the Football League. Yeovil relegated after that defeat. Torquay's winning run came to an end with a 5-1 defeat at Chesterfield - they have Wrexham on the last day, so likely they will take the final relegation spot. Will need to win one game and hope Maidenhead get stuffed in both of theirs to overcome the goal difference.

As posted on the betting thread - Leyton Orient literally stopped trying for the last 10 mins as they knew they were up.

2nd placed Brechin City went to table toppers Buckie Thistle in the last game of the season yestedsay, and won by scoring in the 87th & 95th minute, overtaking Buckie and winning the league.

Same thing happened on the final day of the season last season to Buckie too

Brechin now have a play off against the winner of the Lowland League, and the winner of that plays against bottom placed team in Scotch L2

So they win the league but aren't yet promoted?

No, the only thing that winning the lowland and highland league gives a club is, basically, a playoff place! Wonder if Brechin will be the first club relegated from the Scottish Football League to return to the league.

They’ll be playing The Spartans (an Edinburgh based club) who won the Lowland League by 3 points from Rangers B. Given Brechin’s league campaign saw them score 100 times while conceding just 16 in losing just 1 league game you have to say they’ll be clear favourites to get to play (most likely) Albion Rovers in the “play off final”.

Haven't really been paying attention to the top end of the Championship, but 3 points separate Sunderland in 6th and Swansea in 12th. Swansea the form side but obviously need a few results to go their way.

That's sad. Wonder what supporters prefer - a few seasons maybe challenging at the top of the National League, or the stability of the unbroken run in the fourth tier they had from 1974 to 2010.

In the 15 seasons from 1974-75 to 1988-89, Rochdale finished between 17th and 22nd on 13 occasions, with two 15th placed finishes.

they were the team that famously had never been promoted or relegated for the longest time I think (until a few years back when they went up to L1 then straight back down)

League 1 promotion all but done after last nights results. Plymouth and Ipswich both win, and are now 5 and 4 points clear of 3rd placed Wednesday with 2 to play.

Wednesday already have 90 points but will most likely have to navigate the play-offs. Barnsley already assured of at least 4th place but 5 points behind 3rd, so likely to stay there.

Other 2 play-off spots between Bolton, Derby and Peterborough - the latter 2 points behind the other 2. Derby have the toughest fixtures on paper but Pompey can't now make the play-offs and Wednesday may well rest players on the final day with an eye on the play-offs - where they would likely meet Derby.

At the bottom, Oxford put 4 past an "on the beach" Cheltenham, to move 3 points clear of the drop and Accrington win 1-0 at Bolton. Stanley play Cambridge on Saturday, Cambridge will be relegated if they lose.

League 2

Stevenage win at Swindon to move 4 points clear of Stockport, to all but guarantee that it will be Orient, Northampton and Stevenage taking the automatic spots.

5 teams challenging for the play-off spots - Stockport, Carlisle, Salford, Bradford and Mansfield - all 5 on either 75 or 72 points - Mansfield sit in 8th on GD - Bradford have a game in hand as well.
