Royalcop Stoke have released Nick Powell, Sam Clucas and 40 year old Phil Jagielka today - Powell has a decent 1 in 3 strike rate over previous seasons and Clucas seems like a solid midfielder who would probably be a cut above L1 standard. Jagielka likely too old for a full L1 campaign but might make a good player-coach a la John O’Shea?

Powell would suit us, replacement for Meite on the treatment table

Yeah. I've always liked Powell but we don't need more injury prone players for the butchers in our medical team to get their hands on.

Would be awesome but I just don't see it. Cheltenham would want £1m for him

Not really.

Of course we are, we are recouping a great deal from the Puscas deal (should it go through) and the astronomical savings on wages too.
That and hopefully the restrictions will be lifted as we currently know them. We can afford Alfie May, issue is so can many other clubs who are better than us.

May will be 30 in July so possibly not the sort of player the club should be looking to spend a million on in its current state.

Stranded Mail reporting that Luca Fletcher is likely off to Man City - talks ongoing with a fee of around 1m mooted in the report.

Bit of a shame that this type of thing can happen in football - only good thing is that £1m is a decent sum of money and I hope we put a massive sell-on fee in the agreement as well. Feels a shame when someone like this comes through the academy and is sold before they can even make a first team appearance.

RG30 Good luck to the kid and hopefully the club can negotiate a strong deal that sees us benefit both in the short and long term.

A loan back for next season would be helpful, if he's as good as City appear to believe.
