Who Moved The Goalposts? I've been told the Administration rumour is not true, and so far the guy with the news has been pretty reliable.

Good. Glad it was false info.

From Despair To Where? I don't know what to believe, if I'm honest.

I'm going out on a limb here, but definitely not Orion would be my choice.

Says Mr League 1 is the reset the club needs.

Awww sorry I hurt your feelings.

It's Mr the club needs Dai out for a reset actually.

Earnshaw update that administration rumour is rubbish. Talks with a few parties ongoing but slow process.

They must be wondering if they could rescue the club from falling to L2 this season if they're watching results and performances. No doubt adds to complication.

It does but perversely a quicker takeover raises the chances of the club surviving in L1 as we would finally have a level of stability that just doesn't exist today.

So going slowly, increases the chances of relegation and with it a lower value product that they may purchase. This may of course mean it is better VFM as buying a L2 team that, managed well, could shoot back up fairly quickly may be more tempting than a struggling L1 side.

Hound
WestYorksRoyal Athletic article pretty bleak on this today. Dai values the club at over £70m including stadium (dream on Dai), and he's pretty much AWOL and only reachable through Kia Joorabchian. There is no obvious end in sight.

Yep a good if depressing read

Did say a number of pages back that I thought he’d ask about 70m for it, hence why no one has bought it

No one will pay anywhere near that obvs and that’s why we’re stuck

Lots of interesting info in there, not sure if it’s all 100% accurate but they seem sure of a few things

SCL did help pay the wages last month
Wage bill around 700k per year
Savage sell on is 50%
A lot of the players last year were pretty ‘toxic’

It does also quite Olise price at £6m though which does make me a little bit suspicious of the other info

£700k/month wage bill you mean? if so yes I can believe that

Ah yes

Though on last nights display 700k per year would be too much

SJM interview on BBCRB:
- Changed his tune; no longer defending Dai,
- Sounds pretty desperate about the situation, fears receivership
- Howe is out trying to sell the club and there is interest
- Thinks club could be a bargain and £20m could be enough.

Obviously his figure well below that of the Athletic article, but closer to what Kieran Maguire estimates who is an expert in this field.

I have never thought the worst will happen, but it could become hair raising. If you look at Southend, their owner only accepted when it was a choice between selling and liquidation. If Dai is holding out for a better price, it may take the threat of liquidation and receiving fcuk all before he accepts a reasonable bid.

And yes he owns the stadium and has a charge over Bearwood, but there is minimal value in these without the club. Perhaps Bearwood could be turned into a golf course; that would be about it. So if it gets to £20m or liquidation I expect a deal to be struck.

Not sure there's any mileage in turning it back into a golf club. There was a reason why they were willing to sell the land in the first-place. Used to be a waiting list for Sonning Golf Club, now pretty much anyone can join and they've flogged off a section for an old peoples' home. Reading Golf Club were happy to take the development money and move to Mapledurham.

Wycombe may be interested in buying the complex as it is. Or if the University-owned Halls Farm opposite gets planning permission for housing there may be a relaxing of any rules surrounding Bearwood. Surprised there hasn't been more action on redeveloping the housing they got behind the Kitchen Garden when the Club bought the whole site. Some money to be made there.

Sky Sports reporting that Genevra Associates, an investment management firm in the US and Luxembourg, had a "significant offer" rejected. This alongside Anthony Smith's report that administration will happen this week.

Can these both be true? Rejecting an offer then placing your club into administration is not rational behaviour.

Makes no sense. The Administrators take over and the bid is resubmitted, if its the only game in town they take it, less their share. Dai gets less.

More random on Twitter saying this Genevra company are related to the guy who didn't pay wages at Wigan. I have no idea if true, but surely an owner who has already fcuked one club stands no chance on their FPP checks?

Depends on the FL rules and how they categorise and evidence someone who owns a club that fails to meet its obligations.

I suspect Dai would be out, having been personally charged with misconduct.

He was appointed a general partner last week if Genevra's official LinkdIn account is to believed.
