...according to NLM, Chairman has been posting on TwiX apologizing for result and citing 10 players had left before last night's tie!Royals and Racers wrote:Tonight’s final match in round 1 was

Langley’s manager quit a few days ago and the rest of his management team left as well. Not sure if any players have gone as well.
Yes they do but far less teams - only 18 in the Senior cup( as against 41 in B & B )and less of a standard, with only 10 step 6 and above. ( against 41) I think teams now in Oxfordshire compete in ours because of the old County boundaries.Dulwich Royal wrote:There seems to be some Oxfordshire teams in the draw, don't they have their own Cup ?
Aylesbury Vale match Postponed.Royals and Racers wrote:7 2nd round matches tomorrow. I am off north again to the only ground in the draw i haven’t been to Aylesbury Vale Dynamos FC v Newport Pagnell.
They aren’t Oxfordshire teams. They are from the historic county of Berkshire and have probably played in the B&B for decades.Dulwich Royal wrote:There seems to be some Oxfordshire teams in the draw, don't they have their own Cup ?

A nice reminder at how old school and reluctant to change the FA are.Crusader Royal wrote:They aren’t Oxfordshire teams. The B&B FA are based in Abingdon…..there remit covers not only B&B but also South Oxfordshire and the Vale of the White Horse.
Bit like the England cricket team is called England but includes some colonial outposts as well.
They prefer to be called "Wales"Crusader Royal wrote:They aren’t Oxfordshire teams. They are from the historic county of Berkshire and have probably played in the B&B for decades.Dulwich Royal wrote:There seems to be some Oxfordshire teams in the draw, don't they have their own Cup ?

Don't believe some of the sides wanted to change from the B&B. County boundaries to some in the 70s were like country boundaries, didn't see why they should be moved just because some idiot pen pusher in Westminster has decided that Oxfordshire should suddenly take on some of the prettier and historical bits of Berkshire or that parts of Gloucestershire and Somerset would be better off merged with Bristol in some stupid conglomeration called Avon etc.Green wrote:A nice reminder at how old school and reluctant to change the FA are.Crusader Royal wrote:They aren’t Oxfordshire teams. Why would they change their name or organisational structure? Afterall the counties will probably change again within the century.
Yeh many would agree but all I'd say is it's not on the FA to fight that particular battleSutekh wrote:Don't believe some of the sides wanted to change from the B&B.
