morganb Further to the Michael Stickland info above - both he and Charlie Wellens (plus a keeper, possibly Norcott?) travelled to the Valley on Saturday as they were warming up pre-match. Stickland was also at Lincoln a few weeks earlier, so he's only an injury to a defender in the warm-up from making the bench I'd guess.

Planning for Bindon leaving perhaps?

And good to see that at last "Stickers" is getting involved. Seems he's always on the receiving end of an injury whenever his career looks like it's picking up though.

Would love to see Charlie Wellens debut at Orient :D

Stickland didn't seem to be at Cambridge though, when we did have an injury (sickness) and Osho stepped in.

Norcott was at Cambridge.

Not a great deal to choose between Holzmann and Stickland to be quite honest. Morgan's description of Stickland is fair, he's unreconstructed, nothing like Abbey.

He has had rotten injury luck. I don't have the best memory for this sort of thing but he did spend a long time on crutches after foot injury, and I think he's had a few other substantial injuries.

As for Kanu, have only seen him at first team level where he's looked (to me) like he's been thrown in too early. Can't really fairly compare him to the others. Obviously there's a reason why he's leapfrogged Stickland and Holzman.

With the group stages of the PL International Cup being completed over the next few weeks it’s perhaps a good time to see who will progress to the last 8 this season( 2 from each group).
Previously there have been 7 completed competitions and the foreign teams lead the way with 5 wins compared to just 2 for English sides( Man City and Crystal Palace).
This seasons known qualifiers so far are
Group A Nottingham Forest and Valencia
Group B Lyon
Group C
Group D Brighton and Sporting Lisbon

I think Kanu has more about him than Holzman tbh

He’s raw but there’s talent there.

I think Holzman's main weakness is he is a bit ok all round. Neither quick nor slow, tall not short, strong nor weak, positionally brilliant nor awful, great nor poor distribution.

Whilst Kanu seems just a bit bigger and more physical, which gives him an edge, although i think he's probably weaker (at the moment) on the mental side.

U 18’s match at Brighton tomorrow now kicks off at 1pm instead of 12pm- presumably to give their training ground pitch extra time to be playable.

Was just thinking what an average-looking Chelsea side this was and then they score after a beautiful counter.

1-0 Chelsea

2-0 42 mins
H-T 2-0
3-0 89 mins
F-T 3-0 well beat but Wellens and Osho both had great chances to score.

Double match action for the U 21’s this week as they play Derby on Friday(17th) at Aldershot’s EBB stadium in a PL 2 match KO 7pm.
Another piece of U 21 fixture information- obviously NOT come from the club is that the scheduled home Pl 2 fixture at the SCL stadium against Stoke City on Monday 27th January has been moved to Bearwood training ground KO 7pm

Sutekh Harrison Rhone (goalie) has gone to Marlow on loan.

Good move getting our young keepers out on loan, even if it's simply for a month.
