Sanguine One of the biggest upsets in Coupe de France history this week - amateur side FC Bourgoin-Jallieu, of the fifth tier, drew 2-2 with Lyon, and then beat them on penalties.

Winston Biscuit There is no relegation from the 2nd tier though.
Dutch FA's Licensing Committee to decide at the end of the season whether to continue allowing Vitesse to have a professional license

Sanguine I guess the Scottish Championship is part-time?

Sanguine I've been watching the Scottish Championship for some seasons for the fate of Ayr United and Queen's Park, in their attempts to achieve promotion to the SPL, because I like 'new' teams in the top flight. For the same reason I'd love to see Preston or Bristol City or Oxford make the English Championship playoffs.
Ayr United are going well again this season, only two points behind Falkirk, albeit the leaders have a game in hand. They came second in a remarkably close league in 2022-23, finishing five points behind promoted Dundee, level with Queen's Park, and only a point ahead of Greenock Morton. The season before, Arbroath came second by just two points, with Kilmarnock promoted.
I guess the Scottish Championship is part-time? There's remarkable fluctuation in performance year to year. Ayr came 7th last year. Arbroath were relegated to League One last season. Queen's Park were promoted to the division, came a close 3rd, and then 8th.
I'm guessing money has happened at Falkirk. They were only promoted last season, having won League One without losing a game. If they do go up they will return to the SPL after a gap of 15 years.

all 4 top divs are professional afaik.
Its all about ICT's 'great escape' attempt from league 1 relegation for me! I believe this thread is now the unofficial all divs Scotch football thread
