Interestingly*, Birmingham have played half their games (23) and are on 53 points, exactly halfway to equalling the record. Given that Wycombe, Wrexham and Huddersfield are pushing them for the title / promotion, I can see them getting very close. Walsall already look odds on to go up, so fingers crossed they start to coast as the finish line gets closer.

I know we're currently listing the mathematical possibilities currently, but my thoughts are that given the margin of error currently available to them, Blues and Walsall are the only credible challengers I think.

To be honest, even Walsall, I reckon, will struggle. Smaller squad who I reckon will take their foot off the gas or could get knackered by an injury to a key player.

Birmingham currently on 2.28 PPG. Carry on that rate for their remaining 21 games and they'll fall short by one point. 15 wins, 5 draws and a single defeat would beat it by one. Walsall have also got 21 games left and can afford two defeats, so 15 wins and 4 draws to get to 107.

Fair play if either of them manage it. As ever, it just puts into perspective what an incredible achievement it was.

Burnley getting close to Steve Death's FL record of 1,103 minutes without conceding - assuming that the record still exists!

Didn't Van der Sar break it back in the late 00's?
