Hendo Wouldn't be against Orient winning the play-offs if they do get in, following the run they've had. So often the team who comes from nowhere just carries that momentum through.

You'd think Charlton may be on a downer if they don't make top 2 having given themselves a chance. Wycombe/Wrexham certainly would be.

Team in 6th will likely be in quite some form.

Yep, very much a parallel with us in 2001. Just missed out on top 2 and fell short in the final.

Then again, didn’t affect Swansea who just missed out to Cardiff iirc, 2010 was it?

I think the League One Play Offs are going to be totally open; all of the teams who are going to be in it are in pretty decent form and any of them could go up.

I think Charlton may just nick the last auto spot, and I fancy us to beat either Wrexham or Wycombe in either the semi or the final, and hope that the other one beats Stockport in their semi, because I think we will lose to Stockport.......

But first, all we can do is win our last 2 games and hope that Wycombe get at least a point against Orient on Saturday, cos I don't think Huddersfield will do us any favours!!!

Yep defs Wycombe/Wrexham (and Sheff U in champ) who will see it as a missed opportunity. Not really re Charlton - they've not been autos or even contention all season and are still a way off and relying on other results even if they win on Sat.

Of course we can - it is pretty much their last throw of the dice - anything could happen on Saturday.

If you go on 8 game form - we are 9th playing the teams in 20th and 24th

Orient are 4th, playing the teams in 6th and 21st,

Scary how Bolton and Huddersfield have both imploded - both W2 L6 of last 8.

If we beat them on Saturday, that will be 5 consecutive home defeats for them, their worst run since 1948/49!

The previous times we have got into the play-offs, iirc we were either just pipped to an automatic spot or else we were comfortably in a play off spot for weeks beforehand.

So, if we do make it, it will be the first time we have had to fight tooth and nail to squeak in......

I don’t think we (or Orient) would be least likely to win by any stretch. Being one of the form teams going into it on a high.

Yep we've never been 4th position in playoffs, and only 3rd position once I think, the year we beat Cardiff in the semis.

The bookies do not fancy our chances. I had a fiver on promotion at 40/1 a month or so back. Looked after Saturday and the cash out option was £1.36.

Think you mean 6th! Reading have finished 4th in the play offs on two occasions. Finishing 4th means a semi final exit (and logically a 6th placed finish would mean the same :? ).

Reading PO record summary
94-95 - finished 2nd (lost in po final)
00-01 - finished 3rd (lost in po final)
02-03 - finished 4th (lost in po semi)
08-09 - finished 4th (lost in po semi)
10-11- finished 5th (lost in po final)
16-17 - finished 3rd (lost in po final)

To be honest, over the standard 6 game form table - everyone is pretty much in form - Orient aren't even the most in form team.

Form table for teams potentially in the play-offs

1. Charlton 16pts
2. Stockport 16pts
3. Leyton Orient 13pts
4. Wrexham 12pts
5. Reading 10pts
6. Wycombe 10pts

Over the last 4 we are the "out of form" team - only Wycombe have also lost and they won the other 3.

Naturally 2 of those will have to deal with the disappointment of missing out on the autos and the last 2 games can change things, but the top 7 are all in pretty good form - we have pulled away from the rest mainly due to Bolton & Huddersfield imploding (both picking up just 6 pts from their last 6 games).

So in short, whoever makes it in, this could be a very open play-offs

I know the memory cheats and everything but ... if I look at the table, it seems that had we beaten Blues on the last day, we'd have gone straight back up?
I don't even remember the game being on TV (I was on holiday, in Newquay, but you'd have thought somewhere would have shown the last day). I never even contemplated Reading winning that day.
