I hadn't heard of him until earlier today, but now I'm convinced Reading are going to win the league.

Read that he's a bit slow and not likely to be much more than league one player, maybe disgruntled Lincoln fan

WestYorksRoyal Amazing signing. Would complement Mbengue really well if he stays, if not we need another.

Leadership and experience which we've been lacking.

If we convince Mbengue to sign a new contract, doubt anyone will have a better central defence partnership next season.

Would be GK, CB and CM capable of matching anyone. Tbf we had that last season, it's always been a case of keep what we have, replace Bindon and strengthen out wide.

Does this suggest Strickland won't be moving to first choice..... Which saddens me..... Or that Mbengue is defo off.

Supposedly Reading beat off interest from Stoke and Derby too, nice to know we’re no longer considered a basket case club.

I don't want to run Stickland down, but he is absolutely not first choice material yet.

Great news this. Clearly a quality and experienced CB at this level.

If we’re promoted from league one and he’s playing for us regularly, then I think everyone’s a winner.

I've seen some complaining that he should be joining a Championship side.

We were alway signing at least 1 CB this summer just because we have lost Bindon & Dean, we may also still lose (and most likely will) Mbengue.

Strickland will certainly be on the bench a lot more this year unless we decide to send him down to L2 on loan for half a season or so - assuming he signs.

Mbengue played the final third of the season with a heavily strapped knee, and if you watched him in the prep for corners he was constantly stretching his knee out and rubbing it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has a chronic knee injury that flares up and is being managed from game to game. I'm sure not he will be a regular player.

Fair chance he won’t get through a medical if that is the case surely.

Shocked that we've made such a quality signing. Not in the sense that he's some elite baller who will get the fans out of their seats but that its the exact type of sensible signing well run clubs, with ambition to get promoted, make.

Good age, good pedigree, captain at his last 2 club's, fantastic statistics and havent seen a single imps fan on twitter say a bad word about him.
