JedMaxwell If there really is a Huntley and Palmers connection to the shirt, I think there's an opportunity to do a special edition biscuit tie-in. I'd buy some.

TBF, they did a nice one for the 150th anniversary.

Indeed they did. My dad has that tin in his home office, full of absolute shit he doesn't need.

H&P are now an online only brand, no clue where they’re actually based now though hopefully still somewhere in the Reading area.

Wow...

Why didn't they buy the Club - don't seem short of a bob or two....

Only clue on the website is a contact phone number with area code 01922 which is Walsall…..
Wikipedia suggests the company using the name is based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
Given they do lean quite heavily on the Reading connection you’d think some kind of tie in with the club would be a decent idea.

So what's happened here? Was expecting the H&P themed kit to be revealed by now. Last minute revisions ordered by the new owners or just usual Reading revealing it late?

The latter although do they really reveal it that late? It's a long off season so always seems to me they like to time big announcements. My guess is they will launch it towards the end of this month, particularly when it's coinciding with payday.

Although going back in time, 40 years since the 13 consecutive wins to start the season. If Birmingham can get this, surely there's a market for RFC to have a home version???

(apart from it being Birmingham) that’s really a thing of beauty.

Loved my ‘patrick’ top and was the first ‘replica’ top that I ever bought, stupidly gave it away to a mates sister in the mid nineties (not that it'd fit now)

Have the replicas of the replicas that were released a few years back…..but they’re not the same material.

Is their a record somewhere that shows what Reading’s away kits have been down the years?

Try this site: https://www.footballkitarchive.com/reading-kits/#1980s

There's a bunch of ads, unfortunately, but has a good record of kits back to the 77/78 season. We've had our fair share of belters and absolutely awful kits!

I miss the old club badges.

I bought & still own the Pelada 93-94 home kit....

Got it home and noticed the 'Pelada' badge was just a patch clumsily sown over an embroidered 'Brooks' logo - so I ripped it off.

So I'm not sure whether I actually own the Brooks 92-93 or Pelada 93-94 (without the patch badge) kit...

The old days eh....

Thanks! Had some excellent away kits down the years, think 2003/04 was the best ‘across the board’ set of kits though.

Had quite forgotten the “so bad the FL banned it” kit (ok, slight exaggeration, but the FL did not like the numbers on the front as it might confuse match officials  )
