linkenholtroyal Sheffield Wednesday currently have players that may jump ship due to contracts not being paid and will be looking for new clubs.
If one of them was suitable and we needed someone in that position would it be morally wrong to pick the bones of another club that are going through the same thing we did for the last few years…..

Snowflake Royal It's the nature of the beast that clubs will drive a hard bargain on signings or pick up players who legitimately leave.
I don't blame any of the clubs who got good deals out of us recently because we were over a barrel.
No objection to us offering the right player a contract if they walk out on Wednesday having not been paid.
Wish them well, would contribute to a fundraiser for them.

rabidbee Think the point is that if the players aren’t paid this month, they can hand in their notice and leave for free.

The days of fundraisers are irrelevant. The sums involved in football are too vast; if your club gets caught in the middle of a dick waving contest between multi millionaires the only thing you can do is campaigning and publicity.

Campaigning and publicity can cost quite a bit of money. Therefore fundraisers remain relevant in that regard.

WestYorksRoyal Yes. The alternative is that the player joins someone else or is unemployed.
I feel awful for Sheffield Wednesday and am glad STAR are offering advice given our recent past, but nothing we do as a club can really influence what happens. Hopefully the dickhead accepts a fair price and ends this sorry chapter. It doesn't currently look likely, but there were many times where I thought Dai would never sell and eventually he did.
