It’s going back a while now so may be wrong but I think Bowen was pretty restrained with Olise when he first broke through - and you can see how well that one went

Abrefa often injured as well so I’m sure Ahmed will get plenty of first team football

Yeah, from memory I'd say a handful of appearances at the end of one season. A dozen or so starts and the same or more off the bench the next season, and then regular starter in the third.

Google says:
2(2)
13(6)
37(7)

Mom and Abrefa dropped, WiFi back and Ahmed keeps place.

Ahmed, Stickland, Burns, Jacob
......................Wing
..............Fraser, Savage
Garcia,.......................... Kyerewaa
.............Ehibhatiomhan

Whilst I'm delighted for Ahmed, that seems incredibly harsh on Abrefa. Very surprised to see Doyle on the bench, especially against what we presumably expect to be 'weaker' opposition at home.

Suprised by the selection but looking forward to seeing Ahmed again

Strong bench. Any ideas what’s up with Lane?

He's joined Reading FC. Same as O'Connor. Not missed a game through injury for > 3 years? Join us and see how you hold up.

There was some mention last week that he may have picked up a knock against Huddersfield but the club wasn’t too sure at the time. JE just says Lane has no place in the squad in the Chronic.

No Dorsett - concussion protocols must have expired by now.

I wonder how many games him & Yids will miss between them?

Confirmed by the proverbial horse’s mouth itself, Lane has a knock.

What a miss Garcia. Ehibhatiomhan could have scored instead of squaring too.

Big selection error picking Fraser over Elliott and Doyle today. We need more inventiness. And now we need 2 goals, as even a draw today is a poor result let alone a loss.

The selection error is playing Fraser advanced and our most creative player in defensive midfield.

Wing has played that role a long time now. There has to be space for Elliott or Doyle ahead of him in games we expect to win.

Sooner or later you're going to need to recognise that Wing's in the team to run things from deep, and it's his passing and vision from there, not fancy footwork and creativity forward that our last two managers want from him.

Wing further forward isn’t the answer, it's someone who can turn and run at the defence, committing people. That's Elliott and Doyle.

Hunt has most people's backing, but our next game is a probable loss away at Bolton which could be 4 losses at the start of the season.

If relegation looks like a serious risk after 15 games or so, the new owners won't mess around. They have a plan and won't allow the risk of L2 football to stand. On paper it shouldn't be something we have to worry about with our squad.
