Yes we’ve played the system on this one

I don’t blame LR and co in the circumstances but we’ve plenty enough cover to have played

Snowflake Royal They really need to introduce some criteria for a player on international duty to qualify for a game being called off.

It's ludicrous it can happen because a bunch of Unders with no prospect of playing in the League anyway are away on International duty.

Something like the Trophy qualifying rules... have to have 40 professional starts, be in top 10 starters for league games at the club this season, or started the last league game to count towards the number needed for moving a match.

5 league one games off on Saturday, maybe the international break should apply to the top three leagues in future, everyone knows where they stand then, especially if wanting to buy tickets

Agree - at least half the scheduled games are usually called off.

Also agree there should be rules around what counts as a "squad call up" as this time only really O'Mahoney has been involved regularly this season and even then he's largely been a sub recently.

But how many of them are called off just because a few kids who aren't going to play are on International duty?

Ours certainly.

Some are, some aren't....Cardiff have a number of starters in the Wales squad and going back to just last year we had the likes of Bindon, Savage (when he was Wales U21) & Garcia regularly called up who were all first team regulars. But we've def taken the piss this season.

And also you get some teams with maybe only their top player called up and they have to play, surely that's not fair. Think that happened to Exeter against us

But how would Infantino become beat friends with murderous dictators and sex offenders then?

I thought there was something like this, especially when it came to players in the U21s and lower, but I can't find anything in the EFL regulations regarding postponements related to internationals.

Would rather the international weekends were kept free across League One and Two, with EFL Trophy matches were played at the weekend during them (unless they can do the group stage in pre-season, akin to the Scottish League Cup). Would simply provide more certainty about whether league matches will be taking place or not.

Tobias Borgnis played every game for New Zealand at the U17 World Cup - losing 3-0 to Mali; 3-2 to Saudi Arabia and 4-1 to Austria.

The New Zealand squad was mostly comprised of players based in New Zealand and/or the academies of Australian A-League teams. Only Borgnis and Alex Lienard (at Sunderland) aren't based in that part of the world. Although I think there are rules governing players moving countries before the age of eighteen.
