Whore Jackie Overall Wimbledon capacity is 9,200. Typical maximum capacity for away end is 1,200, though it can nominally hold 1,466. Cardiff got 1,310, though their original allocation was 1,210. So presumably Wimbledon looked at their numbers and gave them an extra 100. Attendance that day was 8,452, admittedly early August. Max attendance this year has been Port Vale 8,686.

Looks like there’s only a couple of seats available in home-only block 116, so we’d be relying on them reducing the segregation area in 115 to get the 100 extra tickets that Cardiff did. Still bizarre, that we end up with 382 less, despite there being next to no rivalry between the two clubs.

As it could be argued it’s virtually a local derby plus it’ll be Reading’s first ever competitive game at the new Plough Lane. Even a Labour politician could work out tickets would be in high demand.

Hopefully will soon get news of an additional allocation being granted.

STATEMENT FROM STAR:

On behalf of all Reading fans, we contacted AFC Wimbledon to discuss the possibility of granting us an increased allocation for our upcoming fixture. When making our plea, we highlighted that Cardiff City were given an increased allocation of 1,300 for their fixture.

Unfortunately, the AFC Wimbledon team have confirmed that they are only allocating 900 away tickets due to the exceptionally high demand for tickets from their own fans. We will never argue with clubs trying to maximise revenue, so we are left with little choice but to respect their decision.

However, we also left with little choice but to conclude that this means Reading Football Club are massive, more massive than Cardiff City and chants of "you're only here for the Reading" are statements of fact, rather than just standard banter.

We will be offering no further comment.

(But we do have coach tickets available for the game, even if you didn’t get a ticket go and hang out in Wimbledon)

I saw Reading play at the old Plough Lane ground in the early 80’s. A 1-1 draw the unfortunately named Wayne W@nklyn scored for us.
