There's some less savoury rumours about Martin - that said, it's a matter of record that he was signed by Stam and then Clement came in. Some of his performances under Clement were

Grabban didn't play wide so much as play deep. Watch the play off final again, his job was to try and get the ball between the Huddersfield midfield and defence and try and make space/find passes there. Transfermarkt has it as a mix of CF/RW/LW.

(I'll actually admit - there may just be a bit of observation bias on my part - I watched a lot of the games in the run-in i.e. from Leeds at home but can't remember too many in the spell before that. In that end season run, his record there was played 7 (started 3) scored 3 and 2 assists).

IIRC, he played out wide in our 4-2 win against Aston Villa. He certainly didn't play as a primary striker, which is where we probably expected him to play when he came in.

We didn’t win 4-2 vs Villa that season.

Back to Will Keane - he got about 25 minutes yesterday. How did he look? Where did he play and was there any noticeable tactical difference when he was on?

I don’t think you can draw many conclusions because we threw on loads of attackers and didn't really have any quality.

According to whoscored, he had 8 touches, 100% pass success from 4 passes, lost the ball twice and didn't go up for a single hearder. No shots. Which I think paints a picture of our game

Agreed - you can't read too much into much into a single game.

He came on initially behind Marriott; perhaps we'll see him playing as a deeper striker going forward. His performance was very much comparable to the rest of the players around him: didn't really do anything.
