Starting to score goals from set pieces which is a big plus

Not a good game against a dreadful Wigan side but it’s 3 points

well done lads got it over the line in the end. but i can't help feel its just papering over the cracks - another pretty dire performance against a dogshit wigan team

Pretty much a standard display this year - pretty unconvincing throughout but as Ian said we’re very efficient in the opposition box. 3 shots on target, 2 goals

Our goals per shots on target must be exceptionally high

Happy to take these points but that was just awful. A particular highlight in the first half was Dorsett taking a thrown in near our box and somehow throwing it straight out to give Wigan a corner.

You should have seen the BBC bug. Someone will relate what happened, for all matches. It was impossible to find our score,, and we were playing 55 mins of added time at the end of the first half.

When I checked in on the PL scores I was expecting to read about a catalogue of concussions, ACLs and broken legs when the games were over.

Sat at Wigan North Western.

Goals were at least taken well. Some nice approach play ruined by shambolic individual mistakes.

Not sure Doyle nor Lane necessarily have it, meanwhile Roberts and Nyambe probably stood out most, then the two centre backs.

Reading fans in good voice. Thanks to two in particular who shouted a taxi to get there on time, very kind of you.

I thought we played alright. Defended very well till we gifted them a goal. That really knocked the wind out of our sails. Showed good character to win it from there. Given how useless we've been away from home for so many seasons I'll take that.

Yeh only saw the first half but there was at least some fight and aggression against a team who liked the physical approach

Yep, when we signed him I said he sounded like a quick Tylor Bindon. Nice to see he looks like one too.

Yeah quick and good on the ball. We need that at the back.

Ward did look good. Aggressive as well. Couple of mistakes but lots of potential

It was a shame not to see Young. Lane, Doyle and Ritchie all too similar and just don’t do enough for me. Would play one of those plus Kelvin and Young. Think we’d be a far more interesting watch

We don’t look miles off it. Some nice stuff at times but it all slows down when we get to the final third

Williams and DK really are our best wingers by a mile aren't they.

“Turgid” is the word that comes to mind watching this team.
It really feels like we are being turned into a yo-yo northern club, à la Rotherham, bouncing between League One and the Championship while playing boring, attritional football.

Personally, I would rather see us play attractive football and just miss out on promotion than battle at the bottom end of the Championship playing this unimaginative, formulaic dross, i.e., picking the wrong-lane Paddy over Young or anyone else for that matter. WTF!

I am not a Reading supporter because I expect us to be hunting trophies every season. I just want to be entertained.

I predict that excitement and creativity will be very Leamited while Richardson is in charge.
