Marriott out again with hamstring injury, Rino too "for the foreseeable"

Oh goody! What’s the point, just as well the club is out of it all.

Tbf lots of people were saying to play Marriott because we still had a small chance and even if he got injured it’s end of the season anyway. Now obviously everyone is jumping on LRs back about it

Player has to take some responsibility here as well if wasn’t ready or going against advice

It’s probably a useful reminder we can’t rely on Marriott as a starter next year and need a new forward

I still think it was the right decision to play Marriott while we still had a chance. Now he's got 3 months to get fit and he'll still be back for most of pre season.

Yeah agreed, usual suspects on Twitter calling Leam an idiot for rushing Marriott back but I also think it was the correct decision to risk him even though it didn't work out.

There was an argument both ways. Not it actually mattered a huge amount either really, other than waking the crowd up a bit

But he didn't start him till we were losing so by then we really had little or no chance of playoffs.
Then , in his eagerness, Marriott crashed in to the goal post at the very end of the game and that may well be when he injured himself.

Think it’s his Hammy again, at least that’s what’s been suggested. Not impossible but would say that was unlikely due to the goal post

Tbf he was constantly stretching it and moving it about when he was on the pitch - I’ve a suspicion he did it on that first run he did when he missed the chance

I would say those still dreaming of a playoff place and using that to justify bringing back Marriott so quickly were very much in the minority. 'Most', I would say, were expressing the view that playoffs were already gone and it would be a pointless risk playing him. They were proven right on both counts.

What pisses me off is that, after the Cardiff game, Richardson was boasting about how he'd had to wrestle with the medics in order that Marriott could play, as if that was something to be proud about.

To my mind, that is further evidence that he is an old school manager with an old school approach and tactics. IMO he is not the person to take us forwards and is likely to do more harm than good.

Yeah the boasts annoyed me and he went down in my estimations on that front. I think much as he’d say otherwise he was swayed by fan reactions and the dire Twitter mob

Not like we suddenly so much better with Marriott in the side either. All a bit silly

I didn’t really care if he played or not but can see the logic in trying him - he’s got months to recover now before pre season so it probably doesn’t make a huge difference anyway
