Quite and also why, if they aren't careful, they may struggle to make the play-offs, even with them being expanded.Winston Biscuit wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026 09:49 Have heard Spurs fans twice recently on the wireless saying 'we would be everyone's cup final if we went down!' and I can't help but wonder if they have to self awareness to realise its this kind of arrogance that makes neutrals find it funny to see them potentially get relegated
You would say, Spurs absolutely need to get 3 points at Wolves to stand any chance at all. If they only get a point, or even lose, then it is goodnight.Sutekh wrote: ↑21 Apr 2026 07:03 Remaining games for Forest, Spurs & Hammers…

Not only would they win the league they would probably beat the 106 fairly comfortably. We all like a good laugh at them for the Spursy stuff, but people are deluded if they think Tottenham wouldn't walk the Championship.Stranded wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026 10:46Quite and also why, if they aren't careful, they may struggle to make the play-offs, even with them being expanded.Winston Biscuit wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026 09:49 Have heard Spurs fans twice recently on the wireless saying 'we would be everyone's cup final if we went down!' and I can't help but wonder if they have to self awareness to realise its this kind of arrogance that makes neutrals find it funny to see them potentially get relegated
Depends on their attitude to it. The second they start lording it about and thinking all they have to do to walk the Championship is to turn up then the likelihood of that happening gets less.Orion1871 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 05:14Not only would they win the league they would probably beat the 106 fairly comfortably. People always seemingly imagine teams going down to still be the force they were in the Premier League. If Spurs went down (which I don't think they will) they would be Spurs, in Spurs stadium, with Spurs fans, and a bunch of championship level players. Its why Aston Villa came down to many 'they will romp the league' comments, only to find they didn't even get promotedOrion1871 wrote: ↑12 May 2026 05:14Not only would they win the league they would probably beat the 106 fairly comfortably. Well quite - there are plenty of examples of "big" clubs going down and not going back up immediately, yes most will have been relative basket cases (Hi Leeds) but the thing people don't take into account is they will lose a lot of players and still have a wage bill (even after pay cuts) that will dwarf their income. The MAY go straight back up, and you would be brave to bet against it, but it is not guaranteed.Winston Biscuit wrote: ↑12 May 2026 11:02People always seemingly imagine teams going down to still be the force they were in the Premier League. Can't see West Ham winning any of their games with the Geordies desperate to win their last home game, likewise Brentford pushing for Europe and Everton are always hard to beat.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑11 May 2026 22:29 I think if West ham win their last 2 games Spurs will be gone. Newcastle will be hard but I`d expect them to beat Leeds. Chelsea would love to send Spurs down and Everton is tricky too.
Even if the West Ham goal on Sunday had been given and the keeper hadn't made that save, West Ham would still have been in the relegation zone on GD. They need to win on Sunday to stand a chance,South Coast Royal wrote: ↑12 May 2026 14:01Can't see West Ham winning any of their games with the Geordies desperate to win their last home game, likewise Brentford pushing for Europe and Everton are always hard to beat.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑11 May 2026 22:29 I think if West ham win their last 2 games Spurs will be gone. That save by the Spurs keeper last night and VAR's verdict at West Ham on Sunday have IMHO consigned the 'Ammers to Championship football next season.

The best Championship level players and probably a few PL players too. No disrespect to Villa, but they aren't as big as Spurs.Winston Biscuit wrote: ↑12 May 2026 11:02People always seemingly imagine teams going down to still be the force they were in the Premier League.
