Not forgetting that when Owen Hargreaves made his England debut, he had never lived in Britain and didn't until he joined United 6 years later.
Yes.
Remember when the fans all hated him and booed him because they basically didn't know anything about him? Then he was our best player in 2006 (admittedly low bar).
Short answer: yes.

Long answer: all in the same tournament!

England 1 - 0 Paraguay
England
01 P Robinson
02 G Neville
05 R Ferdinand
06 J Terry
03 A Cole
07 D Beckham
08 F Lampard
04 S Gerrard yellow card
11 J Cole (82 O Hargreaves )
10 M Owen (56 S Downing )
21 P Crouch yellow card

We went sorta 4-5-1 after Owen limped off, then he came on and played behind Crouch, literally shrugging as he came onto the pitch.

Missing the next game, he played centre midfield vs Sweden to some effect. IIRC, he played right back vs Ecuador. Again, shrugs.

We went 4-5-1 with him alongside Lampard and Gerrard and he was arguably our best player, only player to score a penalty.

Wasn’t he also the first England international made almost entirely of bubbles?

Sorry to interject guys and girls, and far be it from me to say, but…..
Isn’t there another thread available here, for this kind’ve thing?

All this thread needs is the progression/regression of past Reading players.

That’s the only reason I tune in

Guinea-Bissau international, Mamadi Camara, has joined Turkish side Kayserispor. He made 52 league apps and scored 4 goals for Reading in his 6 years at the club.

Will we get a sell on fee when he signs for Real Madrid next year?

Sadly not, but there would be a FIFA solidarity payment.

Good to see Glyfi Sigurdsson on the scoresheet as he scored the vital goal that put his team Viking Reykjavik into the next qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Victory for Michael Olise was my back up if England fell short so I guess we have to win it now.

He was meant to be a player.

No appearances 2017-18 season. Classic relegation vortex Reading.

That was because his career was wrecked by injury in January 2017 when Fulham arrived for what turned out to be a fog abandoned game….

Poor bloke, didn’t realise his luck with injuries was quite that bad, really hope it works out for him somewhere.

Leicester really will be the team to beat. They’ve managed to shift a lot of the squad from last season with Jannik Vestergaard, Harry Winks, Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew all out the door with Ben Nelson also rumoured to be about to depart for West Ham. In addition they’re likely to net about £40m (after addons have worked through) from the transfers of Jeremy Monga and Abdul Fatawu to ManC and Ipswich. Add to that a lot of decent Academy products and it’s clear that finishing above them should mean automatic promotion. Some rumours suggest they’re also considering a move to re-sign Jamie Vard now he’s a free agent at only 39.

In other news Plymouth have sold Laurent Tolaj to Brizzle City for an undisclosed fee that must be a good million or two.
