Boston Royal Definitely. We don't need anything. The best home atmosphere I experienced was on the South Bank, where fans would spontaneously jump around in delirium. We don't need a song to lead our celebrations.

Yeah. Can we get rid of the seats too?...

For a few glorious moments I thought Tom Hark was no more ... since they failed to play it after the first goal today.

But no, it came back with a vengeance :(

To be fair, though, I was so happy after the second and third goals that I didnt begrudge it too much, and it 's not like the atmosphere was otherwise flat.

Maybe it's a new policy - only play it when we are drawing or winning?

I know what you mean it was great they didn'y play it first time around but when they did play it I didn't care and more so for the 3rd goal. Whether it was quieter I don't know but we just celebrated through it, absolutely crazy celebrations!!
At least it proved we don't need it...

The scumbags. My heart leapt with joy at the lack of Tom Hark after the first goal. But the bastards were just teasing me.

I wish Back The Boys would come on here and attempt to justify this monstrosity.

Indeed. The lack of Tom Hark for the first goal was fantastic. We've proved we don't need it so... Please, please, please can we stop using it.

The game against boro I believed 100% that the music did not improve any celebration or atmosphere but it did ruin it a bit. The first goal was mad, mad celebrations everywhere.

The second also before the music kicked in. Much preferred just cheering, especially when watching on tv and hearing it - doesn't sound good.

The atmosphere was so intense on Saturday that I don't think we need it.

C'mon rfc - get rid of it.

But as been said before - we all need to tell rfc to get rid of it.

This discussion is soooo tiresome. If TH was so awful then why did the vast majority of the crowd respond to it positively? It is painfully clear from the crowd reaction that the objectors are in the minority, it may be a very vocal (on here) minority but it is a minority nonetheless. Just bite the bullet and accept the facts.

So when they start playing this cr@p should we all stop celebrating, sit down and fold our arms

Surely I was mistaken!

I think if we didn't join in with Tom Hark then the club would get the message we don't like it. I have never joined in with it and never will.

No. You could keep on cheering and clapping. Then, if 20k other people joined you the club officials would note that there was no mass response to TH. As it is, the moment it starts the clapping gets in time with the tune, and you can hear about 20k people singing along. The case for the prosecution rests.

ps I don't join in either, I keep cheering and clapping- but as I have said before, it is not up to me to stop everyone else from doing so if they want to.

Seems that the majority don't want 'Tom oxf*rd'. If only someone could get this message up to DJ oxf*rd Parker'yes me lady'super spin in the PA room. Also, I don't need to be told when to shout 'URZ' and I don't particularly like the stadium announcer drowning out our 'in unison' shout of 'URZ' seconds prior to kick off!

Which bit of this are you not hearing? It is actually quite clear that the MAJORITY do want TH, the vocal MINORITY on this board don't - but that is clearly unrepresentative of the crowd. I'll not repeat what I wrote above because I am sure you are clever enought o scan back and find it.

Exactly, a few hobnobbers say its oxf*rd shit and you've decided no one wants it? Did you watch MOTD/Football First? I'd say about 80%+ were Tom Harking after the goals, if you don't like it either don't do it or go and watch Oxford where they don't score anyway so it doesn't matter what they do after a goal.

So if they didn't play it do you think everyone would just say well done and sit down?!

It's not needed, it takes away from the natural celebration and it's basically just crap.

Yes it's crap, but the fact that the majority of people do join in and seem to enjoy it means it is likely to stay. Wouldn't surprise me if there were some doing the dance after the frist goal even without the music.

Maybe we could have a team of dancers come on the pitch after every goal to do a routine to it?

I'm sure everyone would like that too! :)

Which goes some way to proving the point. No-one joined in so they scrapped it. TH, on the other hand does get the action going a bit more than normal so why lose it.
