Same fans who are buying through the nose every other week though. It's a bit of a token effort frankly, but I guess does show even football fans have their limit of exploitation.FiNeRaIn wrote:Good to see fans taking a stance against these big, fat, greedy corporate arseholes who are all over the game. So did you buy your ticket before or after they started giving them away? Or are you a dirty, rotten, low down, mongdiv cretin of a scab? Or, most likely, were you lying when you said you were going? No Fixed Abode wrote:floyd__streete wrote:BBC London reporting that Chelsea have given away many free tickets to tonight's game in the most prestigious cup competition in the world![]()

Yes, it's fans boycotting due to the massive hike in CL group stage games. However, it's good to see the club doing a good gesture.

Depends how much we are told about the black hole, £2.5m would pay wages for 2 or 3 top players at this level, still if you think that makes no difference than hey.Ian Royal wrote:They did spend several years playing at a significantly lower level than us for it. And adding 5000 fans to our average attendence is going to add less than £2.5m, which while extremely handy, isn't going to make a huge difference to our turnover, or performance. It's not even the oft brought up black hole.Harpers So Solid Crew wrote:Not heard that one before Kessers. No Fixed Abode wrote:

Worth noting that Southampton got 32k, maybe we should have gone down the toss money away like you like route, they seem to be doing better for it.
Note to J Mad, if you want RFC to be a bigger club we need more fans, Reading middle class town, which is where the money is in short supply.
I said less than.Harpers So Solid Crew wrote:There are always players that are free to leave other, clubs, BWCBAP when they are mentioned around HNA, larger income means the club can afford to pay more overall.
You mentioned £2.5m, so I used that figure from you, if you meant a lot less you should have put that. I would hazard a guess that it is adults that are leaving the club, rather than Kids, the same adults that were there in the Prem seasons, and re-appear when things get better. We know from Wembley that fans are there, it is a matter of making RFC more important to all the area.
You are always going to get perhaps one or two near sell outs per season if you're team arn't doing too badly and it's near the start of the season.M-U-R-T-Y wrote:Attendance today: 21,889 (4,203 away)
