Used to that though, it's what wingers do.... Kebe, Gilkes etc. could be world class on their day but most of the time frustrating as hell. But then, as has been mentioned, if they weren't frustrating they'd be playing for the better sides in the PL.Winston Biscuit wrote:may as well get Ola John back hadn't we?FulhamFan wrote:He'll frustrate the life out of you with the chances he wastes
GMac got 9 & 9 in less gamesgenome wrote:Aluko got 8 goals & 10 assists last season, more than any of our wingers
Well done for posting from the surgery. Hope you are given the all clear.JIM wrote:medical in progress
What a very nice chap, and the very best of luck to you.FulhamFan wrote:Fulham fan in peace. No way are Reading paying 7.5 million up front. Alot is probably bonus based.
Aluko is decent. Work-horse. Quick. Some amazing dribbling and skill. Seems to be popular in the dressing room.
He'll frustrate the life out of you with the chances he wastes, but I suppose we are both championship clubs so can hardly expect him to have it all.
I liked him but not sorry to see him go as his agent is annoying.
Best of luck to him and to Reading.
It was £11M and £5.5M of that was only if they went up to the PL while he was therewinchester_royal wrote:Football's gone mad. We all know this. Compared to the £12m Fulham spent on McCormack I think this is comparatively very good business.
Who says the Aluko deal doesn't have a similar clause?Winston Biscuit wrote:It was £11M and £5.5M of that was only if they went up to the PL while he was therewinchester_royal wrote:Football's gone mad. I keep seeing this - winger this, winger that.loyalroyal4life wrote:Alot of money for another winger
Agreed, Aluko's ability to play across the front three is probably why Stam likes him. Dadi, Clement, Bacuna, Aluko- all players picked for their versatility.Stranded wrote:I keep seeing this - winger this, winger that.loyalroyal4life wrote:Alot of money for another winger
Unless I'm going mad, I'm pretty sure we don't actually tend to use wingers. We tend to play with a front 3 or a front man with 3 attacking players behind him - so we are getting players who are comfortable in the final 3rd in any of those 4 positions to allow a fluidity of play. Calling most of our signings wingers is really missing the point of what we appear to be trying to do.
Spot on, this is a hugely popular system nowadays with an out an out striker playing with 3 attacking midfielders in behind him an then 2 holding midfielders playing deeper.Stranded wrote:I keep seeing this - winger this, winger that.loyalroyal4life wrote:Alot of money for another winger
