They care about 1,500 reading fans phoning in and moaning about not being able to get a ticket I suspect. The calls they got last year after selling out (and that was 3,000 wasn't it?) would have made them think that they should take all they can get straight up. I thought they would sell all, and while I can understand why they haven't I'm sure lots of others are surprised that they haven't all gone.Huntley & Palmer wrote:But the club wouldn't lose any money, which is ultimately the point. Do you really think they care if there are 1500 or 3000 fans there?Rawlie19 wrote:But then they'd be slated for not taking enough! FFS, never mind the saying you can only please half the folk half of the time, you can't please anybody!
Except they weren't and were still on sale on Saturday, together with Chelsea tickets.EASTENDER MARKY wrote:EP says we've sold out.
Really? As a game of football it was pretty dire. I certainly counted myself as thankful for watching it on TVroyal.badger wrote:It turns out it was well worth the effort.
Now thats a good point Mrs Lady.Royal Lady wrote: But actually being there and with the crowd all around you in good form, it actually seemed at times as though we were at a cup final!

But you see, Woodcote, I thought that last season most tickets didn't get to general sale. That, surely, is the point. Like it or not, it appears that the paying public in Reading are not as keen to watch matches as they were last season.Woodcote Royal wrote:Well.Schards#2 wrote:So, basically, anyone in the world who wanted one could have one.Alan Partridge wrote:Tickets for Chelsea and Everton on generaLOL saLOLe

Everyone knows most seats belong to STH's or Corporate hospitality so, whilst it's impossible to end up with that may unsold, there will be lots of STH's taking their holiday at this time.
Being an evening game, many parents will not take young kids.
There are still 2 days to go to sell what few seats are still available as we enter the nations most popular weeks for a summer holiday, when our gates tend to take a dip but, let's see how many, if any, are not sold .
And, yes, any smug STH who uses such flimsy evidence for not expanding a stadium that has been all but full for the last season and half is indeed a selfish individual.

I thought the email from the club to someone on here (might have been kiwiroyal) said that the only game that didn't go on general sale last year was Liverpool? Could be wrong though...Royal Lady wrote:But you see, Woodcote, I thought that last season most tickets didn't get to general sale.
