Yes I am! And proud of it too. It is sad world when there is no-one with a robust moral compass who is prepared to state the obvious when someone has stepped over the line of raw humour and into the realms of unpleasantness.

Clarkson, Ross and Brand have all stepped over then line and need to be told that. In Brand's case I suspect that he knew it. Ross is just an idiot. Clarkson I just hate, so I won't judge him fairly I am afraid.

Got nothing to do with football though - so don't trouble yourself with a response.

I have held back from commenting, and I only speak for myself not the whole Army (I am a member of that august body of people).

I was not upset by the lack of a silence in the stadium. The actual day for that is either Remembrance Sunday or at 1100 on 11 November. If we start having silences everywhere it will all get a touch devalued. In my case I had both of the silences covered, the latter along with all those who I work with and who have all lost friends in the current or recent conflicts. I think we all feel the same way - that it is important to retain the significance of the event and not to make it become a pain for people and to become over intrusive. I would not have objected to a minute silence at the football, but it was not an essential activity for me.

i think the reason it got to me was that all the premiership games held a minutes silence and other championship games as well (qpr for example did)
i was just surprised that our club decided not to do it when other clubs in the same league chose to

imo it should be that either every game should have held a minutes silence or none of them.

I presume the chants of 'Barmy Army' from the Ipswich fans was their idea of a tribute to the Royal Engineers - could have been taken the other way though.

Nope, it's ridiculous and pathetic to miss a minute's silence for something as poignant as Remembrance Sunday IMHO.

Glad we had one this year (as we should do year in, year out) and had a lump in my throat thinking of young Cyrus Thatcher killed this year. RIP.

I realised it was a national campaign and was pleased that RFC joined that campaign and someone at the club took the trouble to sort the special shirts out. This was in stark contrast to some of the richest clubs in the country, including Man Utd who used the excuse that the poppies wouldn't show on their red shirts as a reason not to take part! Clearly not the brightest/imaginative/innovative folk up North - black edging around the poppy? special white panel with poppy on?.......
