Bury won the North West Counties Premier by 3 points yesterday. Finished with 109 points, Lower Breck finished 2nd with 106 points. Beat Burscough at home 4-0 in their final game in front of 8719 fans - at tier 9 :shock: - their 15th straight league win.

They’ll now be playing at tier 8 (one below Bracknell and 3 below Maidenhead) in the Northern League next season.

...and @r$e about £ace :mrgreen: here's the round-up of Saturday's results:

Easter Sat PM:

SLP-C
Stamford 2-0 Banbury United
SLP-S
Hanwell Town 0-2 Taunton Town
Havant & Waterlooville 3-0 Bracknell Town
Tiverton Town 2-0 Gosport Borough
Walton & Hersham 2-0 Plymouth Parkway
Winchester City 4-1 Chertsey Town - att 527
- was at this – first visit here for nearly 10 years - fully enclosed now and 3G pitch installed.
- Bar still as poky and cramped as I recall and long slow queues to be served – lots missed some or all of the flurry of early 2nd half goals for the hosts.
- Chertsey by far the better side in the first half but were steam-rollered by three goals in about 6-7 mins immediately after the break
- decent other outlets for food/hot drinks
- ‘Winch’ still have a bit to do to survive in their last 2 games but for the moment are out of the bottom 4
- trek down to Taunton on Monday then over to relegated Marlow, for their last match.
- any of about half-a-doz. sides may drop with Marlow and Frome – incl Bracknell Basingstoke and Supermarine.

SL1-C
AFC Dunstable 2-0 Kidlington – ‘Kiddy’ relegated
Aylesbury United 0-2 Hadley
North Leigh 1-4 Northwood
Thame United 1-2 Flackwell Heath –att 254 - defeat bumps Thame out of the POs with Hadley winning

Evesham United 3-0 Didcot Town

Kingstonian 4-0 Horndean
Moneyfields 3-2 Raynes Park Vale
South Park (Reigate) 3-1 Leatherhead
Southall 3-3 Rayners Lane
Sutton Common Rovers 0-2 Ascot United - SCR relegated
Westfield 0-3 Farnham Town

CCL-PN
Amersham Town 4-1 Edgware & Kingsbury
Bedfont Sports 4-2 Egham Town
Broadfields United 3-2 Wembley -
Harefield United 1-0 Holyport
North Greenford United 4-1 Risborough Rangers
Reading City 2-1 Burnham -- Blues will miss out on the POs should NGU avoid defeat on Tue evening at home to bottom club Wembley.
- a win for the visitors however would ensure their safety and relegate Risborough along with Berks Co

CCL-PS
Abbey Rangers 1-2 Chipstead
Alton 0-1 Cobham
Balham 4-0 Sheerwater
Epsom & Ewell 1-2 Tooting & Mitcham United
Fleet Town 0-2 AFC Whyteleafe
Guildford City 0-1 Redhill
Jersey Bulls 1-0 Sandhurst Town -att 1,862 – ‘Fizzers’ relegated on the final day with wins elsewhere for Balham and Chipstead
Spelthorne Sports 1-2 Corinthian-Casuals
Tadley Calleva 5-0 Knaphill
CCL-1
Chalfont St Peter 0-3 Eversley & California
Hillingdon Borough 1-4 Woodley United –the ‘Great Escape’ still very much on here though for United – and ensures E&C are in the POs
- Woodley play H v Oxhey on Tuesday (seems to have switched?) and are only a point behind Windsor and London Samurai Rovers but with a much inferior GD, so would have to win to stay alive
- Windsor host E&C the same evening: LSR play Molesey tomorrow AM then host Yateley on Wed evening.

Oxhey Jets 1-1 Belstone
Westside 0-2 Penn & Tylers Green
Windsor & Eton
2-2 Brook House – att 625

SSML-P
Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 0-2 Winslow United

WESS-P
Andover New Street 2-2 AFC Stoneham –ANS stay 5th and now travel to Stoneham for the PO S-F
- the other S-F sees Fareham host Hamble – the former were beaten 0-3 at Cams Alders by champions AFC Portchester – crowd was 1,388

WESS-1
Alresford Town 0-2 Frimley Green
Cove
0-2 Ash United
Whitchurch United 3-2 AFC Aldermaston
- Still another round of fixtures next w/e but the POs are settled here:

Weird. Does anyone have any inside information on what’s been going on there this season.

National League South top 6 separated by 3 points going in to the last game, any of the top 6 could finish top still (as those in 5th and 6th although 3 points back have the best GD of the top 6)

North pretty tight too but not as tight.

Kidderminster and Brackley Town tied on 89pts with Scunthorpe back in 3rd on 87.

Brackley are home to bottom club Farsley Celtic whilst the other two travel to Southport and Hereford respectively.

South fixtures

Truro (1st) v St Albans (21)
Hemel (11) v Torquay (2)
Eastbourne (3) v Weston-Super-Mare (8)
Enfield (19) v Worthing (4)
Tonbridge (15) v Boreham Wood (5)
Dorking Wanderers (6) v Chesham United (14)

You would have to say that Truro are favourites to take the title.

As mentioned on the previous page there is a good chance Brackley will be denied by an inferior goal difference. And then we all (well me anyway!) know what happens in the playoffs...

If Brackley and Reading both lose out on goal difference I may have to give football a wide berth for a while :D

By their recent standards Bracknell have had an abysmal season and looks like an outbreak of the “end of season safety belief” virus has hit Bottom Meadow. This spectacular crash in form has seen Bracknell plummet to 15th and while relegation is very unlikely it is actually a possibility if they lose at mid table (and safe) Sholing on Saturday while results below them throw up the right mix of surprises. Suspect this last game can’t come quickly enough for them.

The club really needs to take the summer to finally sort the “what the hell is happening” on the owner and manager dilemmas and then get definitive understanding from the Borough council about going back to the town as this exile really isn’t helping things much. Then there’s just that small matter of revamping the squad.

That said, I note Basingstoke (17th) are in very real danger of relegation as their last game of the season is a visit from the Champions Merthyr and while Supermarine travel to play off definites Walton, the other bottom 4 team that can overhaul them (Tiverton) is at home to bottom club Marlow. That just leaves the club in the middle of it all (18th), Winchester, if they get something at home to Taunton (9th and nothing to play for) and the other games go as you’d expect then Basingstoke are toast.

Royals and Racers Strange going ons at Bracknell Town- statement this morning from the Chairman states that Bobby Wilkinson will step down as 1st team manager with immediate effect.

...not checked elsewhere yet but Jordan Ive back in as Manager :?
...seems to be backed up by the 'Robins' own Twix A/C....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....and elsewhere ....Woodley DO pull off their 'Great Escape'- thrash Oxhey 5-0 @ Scours tonight in CCL-1.
Windsor could only draw 2-2 with Eversley in their final fixture and slip to 3rd Bottom.
Remains to be seen if that does entail relegation to STEP07.
Not certain that three clubs will go down to the Feeder Leagues.
E&C's point moves them up to 4th and they now face Penn & Tylers in the PO S-F
Belstone go to Westside in the other tie - both this Sat I believe?
..... more good news (possibly) for another 'local' outfit- reportedly Berks Co could be in prime position, under (PPG) for a reprieve occasioned by Walsall Wood's request for voluntary demotion from STEP04.
Similarly have read that Shaftesbury may face demotion from SL1-S, due to unfulfilled Ground Grading conditions.
In those circumstances however, I believe a club from that particular division gets the benefit, so probably Helston or Larkhall.
Utter shambles in the combined counties Premier Division South where the play-off semi’s scheduled for this Saturday have had to be postponed. I think it’s all about Jersey’s points deduction and possibly Redhill might also have infringed the rules. The league say the judicial process has to be worked through.
The semi’s and finals of all step 3 leagues- Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern will be live streamed between 29th April and 5th May.
The cost is a one of payment of £10.99 to ClubberTV
I think that is 12 matches
...and if you think THAT'S a shambles you should also check out the fiasco surrounding eligibility and expulsions from this season's CCL Premier Cup.
[Bit of a misnomer as Div One clubs are allowed to enter]
(Very reminiscent of a B&B Trophy way back when: - all 4 Semi-Finalists were expelled pre-Final and Ascot (I think?) declined the honour of re-instatement as they knew damn well they'd transgressed too and didn't want a fine! :lol: )
here's the extract of a post lifted straight from NLM which tries to explain it - I think the 'Windsor & Eton' bit might be wrong and he possibly meant to put 'Ardley' : :?:
[Q-Fs] Harefield United v North Greenford United (25/3) 3-1
British Airways v Ardley United 2-0
Risborough Rangers v Wallingford & Crowmarsh (15/4) 1-2* (match under investigation: possible ineligible players)
Horley Town v AFC Whyteleafe (22/4) 2-0
DRAW FOR THE SEMI-FINAL OF THE CHERRY RED RECORDS PREMIER CHALLENGE CUP
British Airways v Harefield United 0-4 (Both BA and Harefield fielded ineligible players: Windsor & Eton & NGU to be reinstated)
*Wallingford & Crowmarsh v Horley Town (match deferred, pending resolution of above*)
:? :twisted: :roll: ...and fair few other emojis I can think of.....
