Yeah it dawned on me yesterday that Leam & Reading aren't actually Tuchel & England, so Leam must go.

Well if you had shared that information when you had it I would not have needed to work it out for myself.

Not sure id call the football under Southgate boring. Even when we were poor, we had some dramatic turnarounds.

yes, he was more cautious. Probably right to be so in the early years, and maybe as our quality grew his system didn’t quite grow with it.

But lets not forget, easy as it seems to be these days with everyone having social-media driven ADHD, that Southgate’s tenure was the most successful in our history.

Didn’t call Southgate’s football boring, just pragmatic. To call football under LR boring would be jazzing it up!

Coleman gets the gig as LR's assistant then. Bringing a wealth of experience with him.

Ha ha ha wealth of experience is that why he was at Aldershot?
I thought the clubs ambition was the championship.
Richardson and his mates turning Reading FC into a joke club.

If Clement can be assistant manager for Brazil, Coleman can do it for Reading even if his last job was non League.

I saw John Coleman play many times. He scored lots and lots of goals, and had a really ruthless streak. There's no way he would settle for the atrocious attacking performances we saw at the end of last season.

Obviously the important question for any assistant manager is whether he is capable of stepping up as caretaker when there's a vacancy (say mid-September).

Yeah, a wealth of lower/non league experience. I know its not the be all and end all but the managerial and players signings all feel like they're for League 1 at best rather than looking ahead and thinking they're got potential to step up to the Championship.

Interesting appointment. I went to what turned out to be his last game in charge of Gillingham last year and if that's anything to go by his cautious approach will fit right in here. Perhaps most importantly, i think Gillingham used a 3-4-1-2 formation that day so i can definitely see a back 3 as our preferred setup.

Yes, I get the same feeling, as with some of last season's signings such as O'Connor, Lane and Roberts.
Coleman is obviously a big mate of Richardson's and IIRC Accrington were always described as a good footballing side during his tenure.

Am not sure how he will settle into the job as assistant having been his own man for many years but maybe he will be regarded as joint manager by his buddy.

Could well be and recent reports suggest that he has experience pouring out of him
