Maybe I'm missing something but I don't get why he would go to Turkey. He's an odd cove.

I can see why he would want to go to Turkey.

He has reportedly been offered the equivalent of a guaranteed £550,000 per week (£300k after tax) with a £4M signing bonus.

Turkey is also the highest standard of league in Europe in an Islamic country, which also may add to the appeal. Trabzonspor went a long time without winning a title, but they are one of the big boys of Turkish football and could easily push for a title if things go well for them. They are in the Europa League this season and Turkish football gets 2 Champions League spots.

Trabzon also looks like a pretty decent place to live

There is Akgun who currently plays for Turkey and there is an Akin Famewo who plays for Hull City-despite their Turkish ownership he is not akin to being Turkish himself.
