A great result for genuine sports fans. Sadly, however, rather than following the RFU's very principled approach, RFC and other football clubs seem to be actively encouraging viagogo's ticket touting operations from which viagogo profit at the supporters expense.

What fees are added when you buy? I thought it was only VAT?

You get charged 10% for selling your tickets. They don't surely make money out of the person buying tickets as well?

Viagogo charges 15% to the buyer and 10% to the seller. This is standard across all events. In addition to our buyer fee we also charge for delivery


Nice little earner. I wonder whose decision this was? In consultation with whom? Or doesn't it matter to the club what fans might think

Just managed to make a couple of hundred quid out of my two season tickets for this Saturday. Buyer was from Manchester, but I assume they're a Reading fan.

May sell my tickets every game for this kind of return.

If I sell Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Liverpool at the same rate then the Season Ticket's already paid for. Anything else is a bonus.

Absolutely brilliant that I can finally profit out of supporting Reading.

To be fair, you have a valid point - morally wrong or not. They're games we'll almost certainly lose anyway, so it pays for next season season ticket for me..

Usually end up missing 2 or 3 games a season due to holidays, work etc. have always let friends and family use my ST for free when I miss games, not any more. Sounds like a gr8 idea!

I can do one. The law says that "unauthorised sale" of football tickets is illegal. By giving Viagogo permission to sell their tickets, Reading FC are authorising them to sell thse, so the law no longer applies.

So it is allowed from a legal point of view. Morally, of course, it stinks to high heaven, but morals don't seem to figure on the club's list of priorities any more.
