Let's ignore penalties - a very English atttiude . You have forgotten the 1972 European Championships played over 2 legs; 1-3 loss at Wembley, 0-0 in Germany.

The 1-3 at Wembley, Netzer was fantastic that night, none of our players could get near him. As I recall he never produced anything close to that again, a sort of German Jim Baxter.

Netzer was a great player for Borussia Moenchen Gladbach along with Berti Vogts. For whatever reason he didn't become the big star he should have been.
I remember the 3-1 Wembley defeat well. The game was on a Saturday night and England were all over the place. We all talked about it at school on the Monday morning.

it would be allowed, but as the last available penalty taker i imagine. like england would last that long in any penalty shoot out anyway.
