As a legal entity it is new yes, but what makes the club (as opposed to legal entity) is the people.

It's the same people for the most part.

So they've absorbed a youth team to make the club a broader part of the community and changed the name. They've started new deals with suppliers (I'd like to know how many of the previous entities are doing business with the new one and how many have decided to walk away if they were left out of pocket by the liquidation) and registered a new name.

If Reading suddenly got bought out by Richard Branson and he re-branded the team as Virgin FC it would still be Reading FC in all but name. Are Aldershot really a different club than the one that went bust? No, we all think of them as the same old club with the same history and same rivalries.

I don't think Stag Meadow should be left empty and unused. I just think it's daft to suggest the two clubs aren't linked and that any hard feeling caused by W&E FCs demise shouldn't be held against WFC because their nothing to do with each other.

So basically Windsor (having read their chairman's interview) aren't self sustaining. He's 'funding the original costs' and if they don't get permission to do their improvements 'i won't be doing it next season', sounds promising.................

Again this is where football is just morally wrong, goes down the swanny, reform a new club and accept no accountability for the previous misgivings because it's a 'new club'. Just start again making the same mistakes again reforming the exact same club with the same team on the field just playing 2 divisions lower slaughtering everyone, yeah well done for beating someone 10-0 when some of the players were playing in the Southern Premier League last season.

I fully understand why Windsor are held in contempt by a lot of teams at that level.

i find it utterly hilarious how pro RFC and finance you are and make such a big deal about how Reading do things the right way and self sustaining is the onyl option on the Team board yet you actively follow and support a club ran in the opposite way. Brilliant.

Anyway to hopefully move this thread away from the circus at that mickey mouse club, fantastic result for Didcot on Saturday a 5-1 home win, rarer than Haley's Comet at the Loop sends Diddy into Christmas with a very nice cushion between them at the teams at the bottom. Abingdon Utd on Boxing day, they should beat them before playing Thatcham on New Years Eve, we all know that's a 'tough place to go'.

AP, does Kevin Stott say that the club will disappear if the plans don't take place? Of course he doesn't. There is no doubt that the 3G and Gym projects will provide long term financial stability for the club and the sooner they are in place, the better. IMHO, the 3G is the key. Get this up and running then self sustainability will be there. At least we are not in the same boat as Guildford City. A club with no facilities bankrolled by a Premier League footballer. Funny how no-one makes a noise about them. And why have Jake Parsons, Andrew Fagan and Michael Chennells joined Windsor? For the same reason why I am there!

No secret there. He said that way back when the club was formed. He was always going to back the club financially in the first season and the plan has always been to get the 3G installed to enable the club to become self financing. This is old hat and common knowledge.

Out of curiosity, do you play for Didcot Town?

SJM funded RFC's development with the absolute over-riding and oft-stated intention of ultimate self-sustainability.

Mick Woodham, the (until recently) Youth Team Manager at Windsor has just taken up the position of manager there...and Bracknell have just taken delivery of 3 Windsor FC squad players on loan who need more games and experience. Dapo Abitogun and George Gould (son of cricket umpire Ian) have both tuned in excellent performances for Windsor and I'd expect them to make a difference to Bracknell.
