Rodgers out - how much more embarrasment do we have to endure?

FFS its not all his fault!!! ok he is blooding too many youngsters in 1 go but he has no backing to get who he wants and when he does, it is left too late

9.51pm. GOAL. Talk about throwing it away. Barnsley have scored again with just moments remaining.
Kayode Odejayi burst into the area and was tripped by Alex Pearce.
Referee Graham Horwood pointed to the spot and Bogdanovic smashed it past Hamer who went the right way.
What a sickening blow that is.
9.48pm. GOAL. Royals finally equalise - and what a slice of luck.
Tykes full-back Rob Kozluk tried to head the ball back to his keeper only to send the ball yards wide and into the back of his own net. What a howler.
But moments before the visitors were lucky to survive when Steele made a sensational save to keep out Henry's close-range effort.
9.39pm. Reading go even closer. Noel Hunt spun and shot first-time from Henry's cross only for Steele to touch the ball onto a post.
From the corner, Alex Pearce heads straight into the Barnsley keeper's arms.
So close, yet so far......
9.38pm. A brilliant 50-yard dribble from Scott Davies ends with a crude lunge by Tykes skipper Stephen Foster who gets booked.
The free-kick is in a good position and Luke Steele produces a good save to keep out Henry's effort.
9.35pm. Barnsley take off Jamal Campbell-Ryce and send on Anderson De Silva.
Just over 10 minutes for Reading to get an equaliser or they're out of the Carling Cup.
9.27pm. Rodgers makes his final substitution, sending on Noel Hunt for Julian Kelly.
James Harper then sees an effort saved by Steele.
Royals are having a go here.
9.24pm. Royals almost conceded a second.
Ben Hamer made a fine save to deny Jamal Campbell-Ryce. From the corner, Bogdanovic's header looks to be going in but Jay Tabb clears it off the line.
9.22pm. Reading win a free kick in a dangerous position after Antonio is fouled by El Haimour who is booked.
But it is wasted and drifts harmlessly out of play, resulting in a collective sigh from Royals fans.
9.21pm. No sign of an equaliser yet. With only one sub left, Royals are going to need something special to get back on even terms.
9.16pm. GOAL. Barnsley have gone in front. Reading lost possession in midfield and Barnsley broke in numbers. Jamal Campbell-Ryce slipped it to Daniel Bogdanovic whose initial shot was blocked by Hamer. But he reacted quickly to tuck the loose ball into the net at the second attempt.
9.14pm. Rodgers makes another change and sends on Michail Antinio for his debut in place of Nicholas Bignall, who was quiet on the night.
9.11pm. This shooting from anywhere thing is catching. Marek Matejovsky tries his luck from 30-yards and Steele looks worried. But the ball whistles narrowly over the bar.
9.06pm. Now James Henry has a go from distance. But it will take more to beat Luke Steele from out there.
9.04pm. The second half is underway and Royals go close immediately when James Harper's thunderbolt is blocked in front of goal.
Brendan Rodgers has made one change with Jay Tabb replacing Ryan Bertrand who must be injured.
Tabb fills in at left-back.
Meanwhile, BBC4s highly anticipated documentary about Reading chairman John Madejski has just started.
Will it be more entertaining than the action here tonight???
BREAKING NEWS - I have just heard from a reliable source that Tommy Smith HAS signed for Portsmouth.
The length and details of the deal remain sketchy but it looks like his move from Watford is now completed.
And that means Royals are back to square one in their search for a new striker.....
8.47pm. HALF-TIME. Reading 0 Barnsley 0.
That's the whistle - and some may say not before time.
Barnsley have probably had the better chances so far, but neither side has created much in all honesty.
Still, it's all to play for in the second-half.
8.41pm. Another Odejayi header drifts wide. Surely he'll get one on target eventually.
8.37pm. Now Dave Mooney threatens to break the deadlock. It was a half-chance but Steele did well to rush the Irishman and smother his shot.
8.35pm. A superb thru-ball from James Harper puts James Henry away. The youngster rounds Tykes keeper Luke Steele but the ball drifts too wide and the angle is too tight. Henry's cross is easily cut out.
Still, much better from Reading.
8.30pm. Nearly half-an-hour gone and still no sign of a goal. But the Tykes threatened again moment ago when Odejayi blazed over.
Reading are rotating their formation and Bignall has been pushed deeper and out to the left with Mooney operating almost as a lone striker.
8.26pm. Excellent footwork from Gunnarsson to recycle the ball. The cross wasn't too shabby either but again Barnsley put it out for a corner which they defend well.
8.23pm. Now Barnsley have gone up the other end and almost scored.
They broke away and a cross from the right fell nicely for Kayode Odejayi who could only head wide from a great position. That was a bad miss.
8.22pm. Nicholas Bignall does well to win a corner there, bursting on to Marek Matejovsky's through-ball and whipping in a dangerous centre that Barnsley scramble away - but only just.
8.16pm. Barsnley fans start up a rendition of `We're not very good.' Harsh, funny but fair. They are bottom of the Championship, after all.
But the visitors look full of energy tonight.
8.10pm. Great effort from Dave Mooney there to charge down Luke Steele's clearance.
Unfortunately, the ball bounced away from the Royals striker and the Tykes survive.
8.06pm. Barnsley nearly went ahead there.
Julian Kelly lost possession and Jon Macken found himself clean through with only Ben Hamer to beat.
But he scooped the ball horribly over the bar. Phew.

Ben Hamer, Julian Kelly, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Marek Matejovsky, James Henry, Dave Mooney and Nicholas Bignall all come into the side.
It is Kelly's first start of the season at right-back following a long battle with an ankle injury.
Mooney and Bignall are paired together up front again after each grabbed two goals in the 5-1 win against Burton Albion in the first round.
Barnsley contain former Reading target Jamal Campbell-Ryce in their starting line-up as well as ex-Manchester City striker Jon Macken.
The wonderfully named Rueben Nobel-Lazarus, who at 15 became the Football League youngest ever player, is on the Tykes' bench.

I don't blame Rodgers, it certainly doesn't appear to be his fault however Coppell didn't get us promoted with big money signings. We need to pick up a few 23-27 year old lower league players for transfer fees between 100 and 750k.

Pearce has been rubbish in every game i've been too, every game I've seen on telly and most games I've followed via SSN/hob nob yet he's our skipper and rodgers favourite boy.. Why?

I Remember us being 2-1 up against burnley or blackpool just before the playoffs and pearce pushing over an opposition player the team then scored from a freekick (soft header back post)

His own goal against chelsea and that debacle against Newcastle,
I'm guessing there are others and perhaps he's done lots of good stuff I just missed it in the bad.

Coppell took over a side that was towards the end of a 3 or 4 year building plan. Coppell changed things about a little to enhance Pardews team but he didnt take over a side that had just been ripped apart and needed rebuilding because half of it was wet behind the ears
