I see the club are still sticking to the party line that tickets went on general sale at 9am on Tuesday when we all know it was 5pm on Monday.

Nice to see lots of demand, and I sadly just looked at the online ticketing and think it's about 45 tickets available (singles only) in the Y24, 25 and 26. Not bad going.

One other thing to add is that Villa have sold their 4,000 allocation.
This game will be a sell-out.

Not doubting it'll sell out - just that as of 5 minutes prior to my post, the T/O said they'd sold just under 21K tickets.

Knowing how many people have bought tickets today, I'd be suprised if the game isn't sold out by Friday lunchtime.

Rubbish.

If there are still tickets remaining surely that means they didn't need to panic and not employ their expensively implemented royalty points system and thus rewarding their most loyal fans with first dibs on the seats they wanted because there would have been plenty of time over the rest of the week to sell those that remain.

There is no excuse for mistreating the fans in this way. Either way I think the game will sell out AND the 99.9% of people who want a ticket and make an effort to get one should do but they've not looked after their loyal fans, they've not given them the chance to get in first which is only fair and right and inline with the way they've sold tickets over the last 5 or 6 seasons.

Quite right. And dare I say that it's a bit disingenuous suggesting that the only consideration that matters is "having a ticket" v "not having a ticket".

Some places are better to sit that others and just because a non-ST with 1200 Royalty Points has managed to get a ticket in Row A of the NW corner doesn't mean that he shouldn't have had a day's priority to bag something a bit better.

I do take the general point about the short selling window for this one though and can kind of see why the club have done what they've done.

Mistreated = not doing something they should've done to look after those fans, lol worthy indeed!

They did, season tickets holders were given priority first. There is enough left for everyone else.

Not really, no. But it is fair comment to say that loyalty points should have come into play for this particular fixture. As has been said, why should someone with 1,000 points possibly lose the chance of a better sighted seat or whatever, just because someone with 10 points managed to get through on the phone or online before them? What's the point of having "loyalty" points in that case?

All seats have a good view at the Madejski, and if you are really bothered about what you seat you want then buy a season ticket.

I have got a season ticket thanks - and my ticket for Villa - doesn't stop me standing up for my fellow supporters though - rather than having an "I'm alright Jack" type of attitude.

If you sit in the front few rows, in the east at least, you get wet for a start if it rains.

If you got a seat at the back and you were older and maybe slightly more infirm than the youngsters who tend to stand at the back, you wouldn't be very happy either.
