Their first strip was striped, they wore it for about 30 years until the mid 1920s. Since then only seasons 1976/77 and 1984/85 have been striped in any way.

BBC Sport Oxford were also promoted and will be one of the bigger clubs in the division. They have a great fan base and there is no reason why they can't do well.

Since when have Oxford had a great fan base? I'd have thought half their fans would have deserted them when Hayes & Yeading did the double over them last season...

Oxford have had a massive turnaround of players this summer. They must have signed about 10 or so. Could go either way.

They all tipped Oxford to win League 2 when they were in it and they went down before they made the playoffs.

Like all the divisions League 2 is very competitive even more so with no Notts County this year. Hard to say who'll be at the top, I think it's easier to guess the teams nearer the bottom.

Beating Bristol Rovers 5:1 ... they are doing something alright. Know it's not cool to admit, but living in oxford I have a soft spot for them (even went to wembley ...).

Sorry, but we haven't a leg to stand on there. "Back the boys and make some noise!" is the single gayest thing I've heard at a football ground. And that's coming from someone who regularly spends dull first halves passing comment on the relative attractiveness of opposing sides.

Calling yourself 'Ultra's' trumps anything we have ever done, including rumblestix.

Ultras indeed, what a load of self-important sh*t. "Look at us, we're so passionate about these lower division hatchet-men that we only ever shop at Aldi in Cowley so as we can spend all our money on drum skins and ticker-tape."
