oldebiscuit I went on line for my tickets, asked for blue and ended up in top tier down the side when expecting to get middle behind the goal, not happy! I would rather be in 106 whether theres a drummer or not.

Middle tier? That's Club Wembley, you weren't going to get those for this match.

I know it's probably a longshot and more than likely been asked by others. But is there anyone willing to get me 2 tickets. I can pay by Paypal or bank transfer straight away.

GH Royal Why are people still banging on about STH being priority, ofcourse they should be! It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
Maybe if we approach this from a different angle you'll see. I'll offer an analogy to stir things up a bit.

You are a landlord, you have two applicants;

Person A - Will give you a 1 off payment in full for 12 months rent, before he has even moved into the property, regardless of whether they are living there or not during that period.

Person B - Will pay you in monthly installments when he fancies living there / can afford to do so.

Who would you rank higher? Like it or not, one is clearly more committed than the other, whatever reason aside, money talks. It's not about if you were previously like Person A and are now like Person B, it's always going to be about the person that is putting money into the pocket NOW, not 5 years ago etc.

I don't think your analogy works when you're talking about allocating cup tickets, which is something that sits outwith the purchase of a Season Ticket.

I agree that STHs should be prioritised, but draw the line at giving them the right to snap up tickets for whoever they fancy, before non-STHs even get a chance to buy. Having seen it all unravel, the best way would have been to let STHs buy one, plus another one (maybe two) for members with a number of points above a certain threshold. It now looks as though the decision not to let STHs take a +1, (some of whom wouldn't have anyway) was the right policy in principle, just not in execution.

Surely it should still go in favour of the STH, as that person would then be choosing to put more money into the club, regardless of how they are doing in the league. For example this season our performance in the league has been poor, I'm not sure what our average attendance has been but I would hazard a guess between 15k-17k usually including around 1k away fans.

The people that committed at the start of the season to pay to watch every home game win or lose should have their faith repaid IMO.

Feel STH's should of been allowed a +1, but only members with 50 points+ . Would cut down on any potential Gooners and you'd know they've atleast been to a few games.

Yellowcoat my mate, a former STH for a number of years, isn't coming.

RFC said throughout that any STH who wanted to be with anyone who had limited points should wait until they were eligible to purchase to ensure that they were together. They even guaranteed that over 300 points would get a ticket. You decided to panic so it is your fault your friend will not be with you not the club.[/quote]

He has less than 200 points and I took the messages from the club to suggest that volumes of likely purchasers were much greater than I'd have expected (the 100k member cards and little or no chancd of general sale) and so chose not to wait.

I don't disagree that STHs should get first dibs. Your policy on the +1 would have been sensible, but it's with the benefit of hindsight that we're able to say that now.

So, around 5000 more tickets to shift in two and a half weeks. No problem.

We will sell our 31,000+ allocation and 99% (minimum) will be Reading. I know of quite a few Reading fair weather followers that will now jump on the bandwagon for a bit of a day out.

Sell 500 a day for the next ten days and we are sold out a week before the game is even played.

Interesting side question on the +1 debate.

Logically if STH had got +1s there would have been quite a few non-STH sat with them in the singing blocks or red / good blue areas.

This would have restricted the numbers of "loyal" royals in this area and would have the effect of dampening the atmosphere in the lower tiers.

This way, the "best" seats should be filled with those wanting a decent atmosphere, with the cheap seats full of people who would struggle with the words Blue Army, thinking everyone is just excited/dispondent and shouting blimey.

It SHOULD work out well for a singing Wembley.

(Just got that "at least 1 post has been added so you may want to review - thing. Realised the post was from DaveRoyal so ...... hmmmm don't think I'll bother).

Whatever the pros and cons of how it's all gone I can't work out how anyone could come to the conclusion that STHs shouldn't get first dibs
