Having a dig at our excellent pitches over here is taking the England bashing to a new extreme.

I said that they'll have an excellent chance if the pitch isn't a putting green? What's wrong with that?

Well you basically said that English pitches are rubbish. I just don't see how you can say that because pretty much every pitch in at least the top two divisions is like a carpet!

Just seems it's open season on the English game and people are having a pop at everything they can just because 15 or so arseholes have done their best to show us up over 180 minutes of World Cup football.

Seems odd to me that's all.

Not a bad line up, better than the last 2 games anyway. A. Cole & Johnson certainly need to be getting forward if that is correct

It's not been quite up to the standard we want it, and it is one of the worst in the top two divisions at times, but compare it to pitches 10-15 years ago, let alone 20-30, and the surfaces they play on are nigh on perfect.

In general our pitches over here are fantastic.

If it is correct, A Cole @ 55/1 first goalscorer is a good punt as Lennon/SWP would normally be around 11/1

Isn't the advanced position of the wingbacks merely illustrative that they're meant to be attacking, rather than Capello going back to something that looks like an old fashioned W-M stylee formation.

I'd have thought so yes, but even so, I'd expect them to be playing a bit further forward this afternoon (unless we score early and shut up shop) as we'll probably have to have them adding the width and attacking quite a bit.

That would make them a bit more likely to score, especially Johnson who does like to have a pop and has scored some decent goals over time.
