Bury were a League club when they folded - they had just won promotion to League One!
Bury never folded - they were expelled as they couldn't prove to the EFL they could meet their football creditor debts after a last minute purchase fell through.

The club still existed on paper - the club was brought out of admin by fans in 2022 which started a bit of a turf war with the new phoenix club that had been formed. I think the two clubs eventually merged.
