Now admitted by PGMO that there was a "misjudgement" by the ref and the goal should have been disallowed.
Hate VAR, get rid of it asap. Much rather human error than a system where ex-referees look at something for ages, at all speeds and angles then get a decision obviously wrong.Dirk Gently wrote: ↑18 May 2026 18:33Now admitted by PGMO that there was a "misjudgement" by the ref and the goal should have been disallowed.

VAR was correct for this one, it's was the ref who decided twice (as it happened and after VAR told him to look at it again) that it wasn't handball.Sutekh wrote: ↑18 May 2026 19:09Hate VAR, get rid of it asap. Agreed, dodging a red card is far more serious that dodging 115 charges for 3 years.Silver Fox wrote: ↑19 May 2026 09:29 How did you Arsenal fans get like this so quickly? Yet you still can't see why people don't want you to succeed
Agree. Said this for so long now.
I read the laws of the game, and to me, the referee made the right call. I'd suggest it's badly written if it's open to so much interpretation.6ft Kerplunk wrote: ↑18 May 2026 20:53VAR was correct for this one, it's was the ref who decided twice (as it happened and after VAR told him to look at it again) that it wasn't handball.Sutekh wrote: ↑18 May 2026 19:09Hate VAR, get rid of it asap. Red card all day every day.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑19 May 2026 09:51I agree, it was, I was as astounded as anyone when he wasn`t sent to the screen.
But Burnley didn`t test Raya once in a 111 minutes, would they have done against 10 men?
We`ll never know.
Is it a red card because it is potentially so dangerous?Sutekh wrote: ↑19 May 2026 17:46Red card all day every day.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑19 May 2026 09:51I agree, it was, I was as astounded as anyone when he wasn`t sent to the screen.
