In all seriousness, could anyone see henry forcing his way into the Reading side ahead of the current incumbent? I thought not. Therefore, for the sake of his carer in football, he had to move on.

Personally I don't think it is just one good game. He looked like a championship football for us in enough his games last season for me to want him to have remained with us and be given a chance.

Which games were these?

I didn't mean just last season, it's just how it came out when I typed it!!

To be fair his better performances were the season before against the likes of Stoke, Norwich and Birmingham though, and for some reason I had the Stoke game as last season in my head...

However, I thought he did ok against Swansea, not great but ok, and as in all his apearances he showed the technique of a player capable at this level. Can't remember which game it was at the end of the season when he came on for 15 or so minutes, but he put in 3 or 4 quality crosses, a couple of which were tap ins if someone had attacked the right areas. For me that was a refreshing change to our other wingers.

His lack of games last season just goes to show how he really needed to move on.

from what i understand James's fee wasn't massive, however there is a sizeable sell on clause, so him doing well benefits us in the long run

I first saw Henry in a youth game when he was 16 or so and thought he was a potential world beater but he never really came on and was very inconsistent when we did give him a chance. Personally I think HRK has more about him and thought he did well last year whenever he was given a chance. I cannot understand why people are so negative about him - but I suspect the management just think HRK and Antonio have more potential.

Good luck to Henry - I hope he does well for Millwall. He deserves a chance somewhere and the fans like him there.

Henry was the wrong type of winger for the way we've been trying to play. He was very much a Coppell winger - stay wide and get good crosses into the box for strikers to attack and head in. Under Rodgers & Mcdermott it's been much more about cutting inside or pull backs - hence why Kebe has started to shine, it's what he does best.

He'd be an excellent winger to have alongside Long & Hunt IMO. Both good at attacking crosses and he can chip in with a few goals too.

McAnuff & Kebe are both better though.

West Ham will be keeping track on him for next season at this level.

One of about three players on the pitch on Saturday who looked championship quality but still faded at times. Great goal but its his first this season and he's got a decent amount of assists until you realise half of them came in one match.

Antonio, Kebe and McAnuff are all better and I'd have played sig on the wing ahead of Henry at the time we sold him too. Still, hope he does well and we receive a Cox-sized sell on fee in a few years.
