I suspected that but went with the flow, so to speak. I'm getting to the age where I prefer comfort over trying to but overpriced beer in an "Atrium", Sports bar or concourse.royalexile wrote:Bored posting m8. I go to the Jazz.
I have a bit more time as I don't smoke but as I'm not a regular I like to bolt out for the start of the 2nd half leaving most of my mates still drinking. I can normally knock back a pint in 10 minutes flat.royalexile wrote:Yeah i have been known to cram a ciggie in, rush up to the Jazz, quick pint, piss and back for the second half. It's almost a refined art.
How do you know it was a christmas party?Royal Lady wrote:To be honest - who has a Xmas party on a Saturday afternoon?
If I had been booking it and the Hotel advised me that there was also a home match on that day - I'd probably change the date or move the time to a bit later so as to avoid the riff raff in any case.
unless you like a bit of football... or a bit of riff raffRoyal Lady wrote:To be honest - who has a Xmas party on a Saturday afternoon?

The Windsor Bar is part of the stadium, not the hotel.Royal With Cheese wrote:royalexile wrote:Planning and timing.![]()
So the club should ask to move all fixtures that clash with Hotel Xmas parties?
Simple economics. The Hotel is a separate entity and have to get maximum occupancy and maximize revenue streams. Having a christmas party will generate far more money than matchday bar receipts on a game. It's frankly rediculous that anyone should suggest that the hotel shouldn't hold christmas parties on matchdays.
I can't even believe people are arguing over this.
Team Burbs - Always on the same day as the last home game of the season and usually kicks off around 9am in the Monks.Royal Lady wrote:To be honest - who has a Xmas party on a Saturday afternoon?

Are they your Muslim friends?TheMaraudingDog wrote:I know of at least 40 people who usually have 6 pints + food before each game, following the Leeds game they're now taking their custom elsewhere, I'm sure there must be others dong the same. no doubt JM was more worried about the guests he has that turn up a few times a year, pay for a room, dinner, breakfast, soft porn, drinks all evening....TheMaraudingDog wrote:I know of at least 40 people who usually have 6 pints + food before each game, following the Leeds game they're now taking their custom elsewhere, I'm sure there must be others dong the same. I couldn't get in after the Leeds game. I went in as usual after Coventry.TheMaraudingDog wrote:I know of at least 40 people who usually have 6 pints + food before each game, following the Leeds game they're now taking their custom elsewhere, I'm sure there must be others dong the same.
