One piece of analysis occurred to me - given that it is a one-off special match that has spurred the recent flurry of activity, is that,
Probably, Nobbers who started this on-line habit early 2000's are not the same generation as grew up more naturally with more recent social media, and again quite naturally, given the passage of time, a fair proportion of us are exiled away from Reading these days over and above a fair proportion that were already exiled. So Hob-Nob is the natural first point of contact when you need the remote social reassurance that the plan is coming together.
Facebook and Twitter are great for spreading info, but just not right for anything like "conversation".
Speaking for myself, natch.
