Another vote here for the one just outside Ewood Park.

Fernhurst - remember it being RAMMED for the last day of the 06/07 season

That's the one - and despite being packed (full of people and inflatables!) they still managed to provide decent and friendly service. Some pubs can't provide that when you're the only person in there, let alone when it's packed full of football fans.

^ this! Remember sitting on the wall outside with a cold strongbow thinking how surreal it was that we were one win away from a place in Europe. Hard to imagine we'll ever be in that position again but what an amazing achievement and cracker of a day out.

Always liked the eight beLOLs at Putney Bridge, although admittedly it's better on non matchdays.

Some anti-football Nazi on the local council has prevented it opening on matchdays.

Last Reading game I went to (bar the recent day trip to the play off final) was Fulham away circa 2006 and enjoyed a pre match beverage at that establishment.

And who was the nazi? I live in H&F so will be sure not to vote for them at the next LOLcal election.

Around Nov 2009 the landlord was threatened with closure - and did have to close for about 4 matches - because the local licensing committee didn't like several aspects of the way he did things on match days, and especially when supporters were drinking on the pavement outside. Believe it's available again but with restrictions. The landlord said he was "always being policed as though there was trouble about to happen" even though there was actually none.

Notable for their practice of having separate staff taking orders/cash from those pulling pints. Exceptionally speedy service. They also serve free sandwiches in the games room next door.

I used to live in Putney, this is going back a few years now (7 to be exact) but I wasn't a huge fan of either. Full of the rugby crowd usually.

In my day the Duke on Lower Richmond Road was a decent boozer but that's gone gastro now. The Youngs pub on the high street is slightly more tolerable. There's that CAMRA pub near the est8 whos name I forget but even that isn't gr8. The Whistle and Flute (Fullers) on the High Street is probably my Putney pub of choice these days, although I'd probably look to do my drinking north rather than south of craven cottage were I to go to another game, particularly given the sad news of the eight bells demise.

I like the Crabtree at Fulham, cracking beer, decent if slightly overpriced burgers and a nice walk along the Thames to the ground.

Otherwise The Vine at West Brom takes some beating when they have the indoor barbeque on.

Also really good if you like a wide range of beers is The Rake, which is down the road with The Southwark Arms on it and round the back of the market - really interesting selection of bottle beers and always interesting guest ales. but The George is always nice, and I like the old dungeons downstairs at the Southwark Arms as well
