Terrible first half from what I saw, but looks like we slightly edged it. Pog nearly scored right at the end but Perch makes a last ditch clearance.

Ahhh Pog, close. Helps a little to end a frustrating half that way. Liked Kebe, and we had better possession so far than in most other games, but goals still feel far from inevitable.

Not much between the two teams, but the geordies do look beatable today.
McCarthy probably won't get an easier 45 mins this season.

HT.

Defence assured, Pog playing well, Ledge and Karacan bossing the midfield, McAnuff and Shorey doing quite well down the left, Shoreys delivery been poor, Cummings doing well down the right, supporting Kebe and getting some good crosses in.

Kebe's not really been in the game. Good that Ba and Cisse have been so poor. Prog really needs to put one in the net.

But at least I look at the bench and see several players that can change the game.

In the games against Spurs and WBA, we looked like we were simply making up the numbers, today we seem far more competitive and have probably just edged the first half. A return to core team that got us promoted has had a good effect on our tiempo and style of play. First time we have looked like winning a league game all seasom.

I liked wha I saw in the first half. A lot of energy. We keep working like we did in the first half the goal will come...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alf & Roberts upfront before the game is over.

Had to just keep refreshing... Kebe with a weird one falling to the ground, then an absolute class goal out of the air by Ba.
